I had always thought that a division was an army unit around 15,000 men. If this is the 30th of them then we have at least 450,000 people fighting for us against Assad and ISIS.

We should not be arming or training any of these people
There is only one country in the middle east we should be supporting and that is Israel
The facts are:
1. al Qaeda BOMBED the Pentagon, and
2. the cowards therein armed them to murder Americans,
3. using US taxpayer funds.
America is not protected at all by the Pentagon.

IIRC, of the 5,000 so called “moderates” supposed to be trained, 30 actually completed the training and had weapons. Of those, the majority were battle casualties, KIA or wounded. Those not wounded quit and went home.
Maybe Obama will have better luck with the next group...

New Syrian Forces are part of Division 30. Division 30 is part of the Free Syrian Army. The New Syrian Forces are the more highly trained of the Free Syrian Army - the FSA who McCain vetted, who he said are trustworthy "because I know them".
This is not the first incidence of arms going to AQ, typically by surrendering to AQ but sometimes by selling to AQ. Here Here Here
Sometimes FSA and AQ work together. We have clear instructions from our [al-Qaida] leadership that if the FSA need our help we should give it.
FSA leaders have defected to AQ
etc etc etc. McCain sold nonsense. He served as a flak for the Clinton-Obama "Arab Spring" operation.
The Syria Emergency Task Force (SETF) is funded by the State Department. McCain & Clinton. Is it any surprise that nothing is done about Clinton?
