US-trained Division 30 rebels 'betrayed US and hand weapons over to al-Qaeda's affiliate in Syria'

Pentagon-trained rebels are reported to have betrayed US and handed weapons over to Jabhat al-Nusra immediately after entering Syria

Telegraph.co.uk | 22 Sep 2015

Pentagon-trained rebels in Syria are reported to have betrayed their American backers and handed their weapons over to al-Qaeda in Syria immediately after re-entering the country.

Fighters with Division 30, the “moderate” rebel division favoured by the United States, surrendered to the al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra, a raft of sources claimed on Monday night.

Division 30 was the first faction whose fighters graduated from a US-led training programme in Turkey which aims to forge a force on the ground in Syria to fight against Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (Isil).

A statement on Twitter by a man calling himself Abu Fahd al-Tunisi, a member of al-Qaeda’s local affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, read: "A strong slap for America... the new group from Division 30 that entered yesterday hands over all of its weapons to Jabhat al-Nusra after being granted safe passage.

"They handed over a very large amount of ammunition and medium weaponry and a number of pick-ups."

I’m sure they did what they were trained to do.

Division? 30?

I had always thought that a division was an army unit around 15,000 men. If this is the 30th of them then we have at least 450,000 people fighting for us against Assad and ISIS.

Wait, we have a half dozen and not 450,000?

There is no such thing as a moderate
We should not be arming or training any of these people

There is only one country in the middle east we should be supporting and that is Israel

US-backed leader of Syrian rebel group quits and lists 6 problems with the training program
http://www.businessinsider.com/division-30-syrian-rebel-chief-of-staff-quits-2015-9

Business Insider | Sep. 21, 2015

The chief of staff of the US-trained Syrian rebel group Division 30 resigned from his position on social media on Saturday, days after a top military general told Congress that the US had successfully trained just “four or five” opposition soldiers.

Citing problems such as “slowness in the implementation of the training program of the 30th brigade,” “the lack of sufficient numbers of trainees,” and “the lack of seriousness in the implementation of the project to establish the 30th brigade,” Colonel Mohammad al-Daher announced his withdrawal from the program.

I’m sure they did what they were trained to do.

I’m sure they did what they were told to do.

I’m sure they did what they really wanted to do.

I’m sure they did what they were expected to do.

I’m sure they did what Obola wanted them to do.

The facts are:

1. al Qaeda BOMBED the Pentagon, and
2. the cowards therein armed them to murder Americans,
3. using US taxpayer funds.

America is not protected at all by the Pentagon.
Not at all.

Lets face it folks. Those people over there change sides more often than I change shoes.

A ‘moderate’ (as if) faction today, al Qaeda tomorrow, and ISIS the day after that.

Three meals and a throw rug..., 72 virgins if you’re real lucky.

We make the same two mistakes in Muslim countries: assuming they’re like us and that they want what we want. They’re not like us - and they don’t want what we want.

How many millions of dollars and truck loads of arms to we have to waste over there before we figure out the obvious. We don’t understand the culture. Nothing will work until that happens.

$500 million for another group to just hand over their weapons ( without fighting)
It sounds like we are arming and training the ISIL/ ISIS army to fight us and the allies.
I'll bet that the Administration considers this another win / win and a lot more effective than bombing unoccupied buildings at night
Does this Aministration even have a "foreign policy plan" other than a dartboard (random actions)? ?

I have never in my life seen anyone much less a POTUS get
slapped down so much. Every day some one, most of the
time some other two bit punk, slaps Obama down to his knees.

ISIS will control Syria if Bashar al-Assad falls. It will be as ugly as Iraq or worse.

He destabilized the middle east so that muslim hordes could kill Christians.

Clinton and her lover/sidekick Huma aided and abetted,.

Shia or Sunni, he doesn’t care as long as they want to kill Americans.

IIRC, of the 5,000 so called “moderates” supposed to be trained, 30 actually completed the training and had weapons. Of those, the majority were battle casualties, KIA or wounded. Those not wounded quit and went home.

That facts are:

1. The American citizenry voted for this administration TWICE. 2. The Pentagon is under CIVILIAN control. 3. There is a consequence for National sin.

MY Take:
1. Meet with Putin and Assad and broker a deal
2. Send US Troops to Syria and Iraq—30,000.
3. With Russian and Syrian Troops Crush ISIS
4. Send aid to rebuild Christian Churches & Temples.
5. Try and shoot all ISIS Prisoners
6. Come home and have Vistory parade in New York.

About time US and Russians fight together to solve a problem. Assad—get him to stop killing his own folks of using gas—Open trade with him and help him rebuild.
Next we solve the Ukraine thing with Putin.
