Stephanopoulos Grills Trump: Why Can't You Say That Obama Is American, Not A Muslim?
RCP ^

Posted on 09/20/2015 8:10:14 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, "THIS WEEK" HOST: Let's get into this controversy over the last couple of days. I saw your tweets yesterday, you said you didn't have a morally responsibility when that question came up about President Obama. But this is getting a lot of attention in part because you have raised questions like this in the past. So, for the record, was President Obama born in the united states?

DONALD TRUMP: Well, you know, I don't get into, George, I'm talking about jobs, military, I don't get into it. They asked the questions. Frankly, it's no longer an interest to me. It's something I don't want to talk about. I want to talk about the vets and the military. I want to talk about jobs. I don't get into that, George.

STEPHANOPOULOS The way to get behind it is answer yes or no --

TRUMP: That's possible, but I don't talk about it.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Even though you raised questions and you investigated this in the past --

TRUMP: Well, people thought I should have defended the president in terms of the question that was asked the other night. My attitude is, would he have done that for me? He's been very capable of defending himself, believe me. So, we'll see what happens. But I think the tweets really covered it cell. I actually was very interested because I got in hot water for not saying anything. First time it's ever happened to me. This is something where I didn't even say anything.

STEPHANOPOULOS: I take that point. But you raised these questions so often in the past, why can't you say definitively yes or not? You raised it many times. And he's not a Muslim.

TRUMP: George, you have raised the question. I haven't raised the question.

STEPHANOPOULOS The other big premise of that question, he said, Muslims are a problem many this country, do you agree?

TRUMP: In some cases, George, we can say no, and you can be politically correct and say everything’s wonderful. Certainly it’s a problem. And there’s a problem —

STEPHANOPOULOS What is the problem specifically?

TRUMP: At the same time, we have fabulous people living here, Muslims, and they have done fantastically well, but certainly it’s a problem. You look around the world, it’s a problem. If I said no, not at all, people would laugh at me. Now, it might be the right thing to say. I don’t care what the right thing to say is, but certainly what’s happening with some Muslims and, you know, terrorism and everything else, it seems pretty much confined there. It’s a problem. We can say no, but it is.

The media, and especially Obama, practice al-Taqiyya:
deception; the islamic word for concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies.

Stephanopoulos needs to explain why he thinks it would be a bad thing if President Obama were a Muslim......

Exactly!

Trump should create a commercial with that footage of Stephanopoulos correcting the president about his Muslim, err Christian faith and how kind it was McCain Tovar look at.. There should just put the text on screen saying: “I don’t need to speak for Obama, he’s a grown man. Here is your answer Stephanopoulos, you Clinton hack.”

My comment at #24 reveals that the dialogue is phony.

I assumed that everyone would know it was fake, but I guess in the times we live in, such farcical dialogue seems as real as anything else.

I did make up the quotes, but of course Obama did speak about "my Muslim faith" and Stephanopoulos did rush to his defense and correct him, reminding the president that he is a Christian.

It's our duty as Trumpswabs to make sure there are no survivors:

Clinton's little fag cabin boy George was still twitching, so ClearCase did what needed to be done...

George, why can’t YOU admit that he IS a Muslim??? Why, everything he says and does is anti-Christanity and/or Pro-Muslim.

Explain THAT away, Georgie, will ya?? CAN ya???

Turn it RIGHT around on them, folks!

Trumpswabs don't quibble over the twitching survivors of a Trump attack.

See post #46, this thread. :)

“How do you know”.

“Because he’s said so.”

The response should be: He said “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor” “You’ll see a $2500 reduction in your premiums” ‘there’s “shovel ready jobs!”

It's a great "quote".

Maybe it will spread, and Stephanopolous will have to keep denying he said it, keeping the issue alive in the media.

Methinks they pretesteh to much.

Please oh please don’t bring up the question of whether Obama is a Marxist Muslim traitor. More than a hundred times or so.

First and foremost. Stephanopolis is a paid prostitute for the Democrat party. That guy is not a journalist. And, basically, who gives a crap whether Trump defends what some yahoo says in his audience? He has no control over that and the PC police can go jump in a river on this one. A true journalist would not join into a political campaign by asking such stupid questions.

We have serious problems in this country. The Debt, surrender to Iran, entitlement spending, open borders, lawless president and the media focuses on crap like Trumps joking reference to Fiorina’s face and his non-defense of Obama.

With all that said, doesn’t this sort of questioning imply that being a Muslim is something bad? I thought the political left was all warm and fuzzy? Why the big panic about being labeled a Muslim?

Furthermore, President Obama himself has called his political opposition racists (its in our DNA apparently) and said anyone against the Iran deal was as bad as the radicals in Iran. Where’s the grilling over those outrageous statements? We are in a PC trap and Trump is trying like hell to get us out of it.

Our political system and our media is so corrupt and so owned by big money (some of it very likely coming from the middle east), we may never recover. This is why a political novice (and admittedly a bit boorish) guy like Donald Trump has a real chance.

That’s my opinion.

Actually the shorter the better.

“Because he said so.”

“Well, maybe if he didn’t lie so much more people would believe him.”

It turns it around and is impossible to respond to.

GOP candidate Carson: Muslim shouldn't be elected president

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson says Islam is antithetical to the Constitution, and he doesn't believe that a Muslim should be elected president.

Carson, a devout Christian, says a president's faith should matter to voters if it runs counter to the values and principles of America.

“And he’s not a Muslim.” “How do you know”. “Because he’s said so.”

So when did he stop, he was born, raised, and groomed by moslems.

He should be bull-whipped.

We’d all enjoy that answer but the mere fact that Stephnaopolus is raising the subject is akin to a pig inviting the candidate to roll around in the mud for the next 2 weeks. Even if the candidate would win, the rest of his message is squashed by the furor to the benefit of the other candidates.

There are fights you take, and others that you refuse.

MSM is asking Carson this ...

Responding to a question during an interview broadcast Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” he described the Islamic faith as inconsistent with the Constitution.

“I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation,” Carson said. “I absolutely would not agree with that.”
