Kevin Williamson can kiss my cute behind (not REALLY!). To call the administration and teachers of that school "imbeciles" because they showed prudent caution in this age of school massacres and Boston Marathon bombers and other tragedies caused by crazed individuals is betraying himself as the imbecile instead. From the pictures of that contraption that I have seen, it certainly looks like something which could be a component, timer, or trigger for a bomb. And, it beeped. Far better to err on the side of soundness of life and limb than to risk a tragedy. If the only thing hurt was the kid's feelings, he'll get over it. How about the 8 year old child who was killed at the Boston Marathon, or the others maimed there?

If anyone else can be termed imbecile, it should be the kid's parents for, in this current climate of school/movie theatre/public street massacres, allowing their son to bring a suspicious-looking item to school.

It wouldn’t have been “an age of overreaction” if that thing had been a bomb. Actually we live in an ape of dumbed down sheeple who accept everything at face value without digging deeper because they’re too distracted to pay attention, Mr. Williamson. Yes, which is why he shouldn’t have built it requiring 120VAC. It should have been designed to just run off of a battery. And who made those manufacturer-quality printed circuit boards with the perfect soldering? It’s just a store-bought digital alarm clock with the parts stripped out and put into another case.

When he didn't get the expected response from the first teacher, despite being instructed not to show it around, he went to a second teacher and got the expected response.
Ahmed and his father should be going to cultural awareness classes to study American exceptionalism, instead of the Rainbow Hut .

I don’t know but what I do know is the school has made a hero out of the kid who will get a ton of invitations to school for free, lawsuits for district and police, and a bunch of money with his “Go Fund Me” donations. Yeah the school and police did the right thing.....yeah right.

Well, gee, when American kids, especially white kids are being kicked out of school for such evil as wearing American or Confederate Flags, or reciting Christian values in speeches and presentations . . .

What can be the harm of making sure a radicalized Muslim family with a son who brings a “clock” to school in a suitcase
isn’t given some scrutiny?

And just imagine if it was indeed a trigger to a bomb and the school hadn’t acted?
