Trump is not the man to lead us
American Thinker ^ | Sept 17, 2015 | Patricia McCarthy

Posted on 09/17/2015 8:59:53 PM PDT by upchuck

Anyone who watched the GOP debate tonight had to realize what a jerk Donald Trump truly is. While he may satisfy a certain lust in our hearts for someone who will poke the left and the GOP "leadership," he is a poster boy for self-love and bad manners. He may be brilliant at making money and deals, but tonight he did his usual bragging about his wealth and success, he insulted all of his fellow opponents on the stage, and he blew hard without much substance in his windy retorts.

He gets a few things right – the danger posed by North Korea, and the fact that criminal illegal aliens are a terrible threat to our safety and need to be deported. Beyond that, there was very little to remember about his performance. He mugged, smirked, and stuck his nose in the air. While many of us may have enjoyed his amusing entry into the fray, we should admit he is not presidential material. Not even close.

Those of us who are enraged at the lack of pushback by our elected GOP leadership should be forgiven for welcoming Trump's cocky, arrogant style; it was like getting to slap McConnell and Boehner across the face for their failure to live up to our expectations. But after a couple of months, the man's true nature is obnoxiously obvious: he is as big a narcissist as Obama. To elect him would be to trade one man afflicted with a personality disorder for another. Despite the differences in their professed ideologies, the results would likely be the same: national disaster. We cannot afford another national disaster as president. We are about to be overrun by the barbarians at the gates.

I think American Thinker is anti-Trump. Lots of these kinds of articles these days.

No Alpha Male would want to wake up to that face every morning! Looks like a caricature of Helen Thomas, Madeleine Albright and Eleanor Roosevelt! And your pic is with makeup...wouldn’t be any on that morning wake up face!

They talk about Trump and specifics yet he’s the only one to actually give any.

1. Will build a wall
2. Deport illegals starting with criminals and gangs
3. Will allow vets to see private doctors if vet agency can’t handle
4. Negotiate new trade deals/replace NAFTA & enforce details with Iran
5. Will repeal and replace Obamacare with plan
a. portability
b. HSAs
6. Has already put out detailed tax plan

Other candidates
1. Need to secure border
2. Have to pass comprehensive immigration reform
3. Never even mention vets
4. Never even mention trade deficit
5. Going to fix Obamacare
6. Going to offer different tax plan

Now who has the ‘detailed’ plan.

Cruz is preferable. He can’t win in November. Look up the math. Presidential politics requires a larger than life personality. If Trump can deliver New York, he wins
. . . a landslide followed by a tsunami.

I don’t expect Trump to win NY, but I do consider it quite possible to win WI, MI, the rust belt. He does that, and The Wall goes up as Trump promised because nobody would want to be on the wrong side of that sort of shellacking.

We are talking realignment, big time. Trump gets 25% of the black vote, and still dominates the white vote - we’re talking 1932. Everybody against nobody.

Not quite so disjoint.

The waiter could see the light was too bright. So it was all in context.

Trump’s question was in context.

You see the media think they are the boss and that you have to answer their questions.

F’em. Trump does not bow before them. He’s the boss, not them. That’s the context. And I love it that he gets it.

I will freely admit to loving the extent to which Trump drives the media and GOP insiders to apoplexy. I take a back seat to no one in my ability to revel in schadenfreude from reactions to his candidacy.

But we have a candidate who can do the same....and who can also distinguish Thomas Jefferson from George Jefferson. THIS candidate has earned the enmity of the establishment not just through impolitic language, but by fighting the RINOs in the trenches, absorbing blow after blow on behalf of liberty and conservatism when he could have made a nice sinecure for himself by just playing along.

As you’ve probably deduced, that person is Ted Cruz. And he has earned the support of those of us who’ve desperately waited for someone to take on the Rovian establishment. He’s got the battle scars and - more importantly - the understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of what we’re fighting for,

Hank
