Trump is not the man to lead us
American Thinker ^ | Sept 17, 2015 | Patricia McCarthy

Posted on 09/17/2015 8:59:53 PM PDT by upchuck

Anyone who watched the GOP debate tonight had to realize what a jerk Donald Trump truly is. While he may satisfy a certain lust in our hearts for someone who will poke the left and the GOP "leadership," he is a poster boy for self-love and bad manners. He may be brilliant at making money and deals, but tonight he did his usual bragging about his wealth and success, he insulted all of his fellow opponents on the stage, and he blew hard without much substance in his windy retorts.

He gets a few things right – the danger posed by North Korea, and the fact that criminal illegal aliens are a terrible threat to our safety and need to be deported. Beyond that, there was very little to remember about his performance. He mugged, smirked, and stuck his nose in the air. While many of us may have enjoyed his amusing entry into the fray, we should admit he is not presidential material. Not even close.

Those of us who are enraged at the lack of pushback by our elected GOP leadership should be forgiven for welcoming Trump's cocky, arrogant style; it was like getting to slap McConnell and Boehner across the face for their failure to live up to our expectations. But after a couple of months, the man's true nature is obnoxiously obvious: he is as big a narcissist as Obama. To elect him would be to trade one man afflicted with a personality disorder for another. Despite the differences in their professed ideologies, the results would likely be the same: national disaster. We cannot afford another national disaster as president. We are about to be overrun by the barbarians at the gates.

America needs a door kicker , not a kinder , gentler hug giver . We need a leader that wears combat boots , not high heel .

Much harder times are coming . If we do not choose the right leader THIS TIME . there will be Hell to pay

Looks like she’s been sucking up to too many Liberals or RINOs, ya think?

There is a lot of truth in this article and we would be smart to at least consider the facts that she puts forth.

Somehow I am continuing to hope that Donald Trump grows up as far as his antics and braggadocio attitude. He has successfully brought several serious issues to the forefront of the debates, and is to be commended for it. Now if he can only have a bit of humility, and truly smile a bit instead of that ugly glowering look. Maybe I could look at him again as a candidate.

Folks - it is time to be serious about Donald Trump. No one, I mean, no one wants to look at an angry looking POTUS for 4 years. Trump is the anti-Reagan who was always pleasant even when dealing with his political adversaries. My memory of RR is of a charmer, not a crabby braggart.

My current favorites are Cruz and Rubio.

Who the hell is Patricia McCarthy?

My thought exactly. I went online to search but could find nothing about her. TAS gives no bio data on its contributors. However their stable of writers is immense.

I came across that pic also, but wasn’t sure it was the writer. Did you get confirmation in some way?

I can accept a president who you claim has a personality disorder (How do you know he does? Are you his psychiatrist?) I just don’t care if Trump is a cocky tactless braggart, who offends every journalist and professional politician who crosses his path, if he can make Washington function the way it should. Why would I even consider voting for a gentlemanly GOPe-approved career political hack with no conscience, who I know is going to lie to me, and do exactly the opposite of what he says he will do.

This article sums up exactly why the GOPe is still caving to Obama. they still think we will eventually get tired of opposing them, and coalesce around their chosen candidate. Trump is not my first, or even second choice, but if we can’t get a real conservative as our candidate, I support Trump. Our country is being destroyed by our political class, it is time we stand up to them.
