But we can't require a photo ID at the poll because that infringes on civil rights. So does their proposals. Shove it where the sun don't shine.

Post Road

Adoption of the U.S. Constitution changed this, as Article I, Section Eight, known as the Postal Clause, specifically authorizes Congress the enumerated power "to establish post offices and post roads." This was generally interpreted liberally, to include all public highways. U.S. Supreme Court justice Joseph Story defended the broad interpretation that had become dominant in his influential Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833).[1] A law of 1838 designated all existing and future railroads as post roads.

#Leftists don’t care about what the criminals do - it’s the law-abiding that restrict their power and thus are the real threat to them.

I’m betting they also oppose ANY ID requirement for voting.

MJ no problem. Recreational use. No problem. Cigs———proof that you’re at least 21. Somebody posted, that in PA (I think), they scan your drivers license when purchasing cigs. Bar code, chip or whatever tracker they use.

In order to make the process work, every state, including Virginia, would have to uphold the same guidelines.

***********************************

HUH?? Virginia has background checks and requires two forms of ID so why is he dragging Virginia through the mud as if there is nothing in Virginia? That @ssclown McAwful (Governor no less) has been running around shooting off his mouth as if Virginia has no background checks ... this is the result.

Sounds good to me! Plus, loosen up the currently strict definition of treason. For example, saying or writing “Bush=Hitler” should be considered treasonous! ;)

Regarding the latest articles in The News-Times on free speech in Connecticut, I would like to offer a solution — a solution which will slow down the process and create jobs and provide additional funds for the police departments. The process is similar to buying a car.

In order for a first-time writer to publish an article or letter to the editor there would be either a $500 to $1,000 fee or a 60-to-90-day waiting period.

Whether it’s a major publication like NYT, WaPo, or WSJ or an independent blog, an application would need to be filled out on who the writer exercising his freedom of the press would be. A minimum of two, and possibly three, forms of identification would have to be provided. The fee and application would go directly the Police Department. The fee would pay for police personal trained on new public expression. A complete background, and if warranted, even a credit check would be mandatory.

An individual with a concealed carry permit has already spent a bunch of money, had a federal records colonoscopy, training and probably waited 90 days or more for the permit.

The first time I got a license about 20 years ago in Cobb County Georgia, it took nearly a full day to wait in line, do the paperwork, police stuff, etc. and pay something under $50 cash. I had to wait over 90 days to get it in the mail.

When I moved up to my little tow in North Georgia and I went to renew it I went into the small courthouse Probate Judge's office and the clerk lady said "what do you need, honey?" I told her and she said "fill this out, honey, and take it on over to the police office and get your background thingy done and by the time you get back I'll have your permit ready." It was UNDER a half an hour to do all of this.

It took longer the next time to renew, I had to wait 10 days because they had to send off the ID information to a Florida company to print up the picture ID/hologram card. It came in about 7 days. Cost was still under $50 IIRC.

I WOULD like to say this. That card has saved me a whole bunch of $5/$10 NICS checks when purchasing the guns I've bought over the years. Fill out the Form 4473, show the card, pay and be on your way.

And I think it show go something like this:

"How Much is that gun?"

"I'm asking $450 for it."

"Sounds good to me. Here's the $450."

"Here's the gun. Have a nice day. Oh, do you need any ammo for it?"

This would be like a 10 month waiting period for an abortion.

If your life is in danger; you might not be alive after 60 days but at least the baby would be. Then the abortionist and its mother could be tried and convicted of murder just like they should be at 8 months. Much earlier really but just using 8 months as an example because it does happen.

“...a solution which will slow down the process and create jobs and provide additional funds for the police departments. The process is similar to buying a car.”

The “gun grabber” who wrote this article doesn’t understand that “like buying a car” in New York or California may be pain in the butt. Here in Texas you simply write a check (like I do) or have it financed and that’s it! No special taxes other than a state sales tax and very simple paperwork and that’s all.

Now, what kind of “new jobs” do you envision? That’s right! More worthless GOVERNMENT jobs on all levels!

The author of this hit piece can take their gun control ideas and put them up where the sun doesn’t shine for it’s simply another ploy to disarm the citizens so the population can be enslaved by Communists and Marxists.

The writer says the Second Amendment is outdated. Free speech is outdated?
Why not regulate that as well? You can make a good argument for making sure people don’t say anything stupid.

The First Amendment has already been breached. Hate crime laws have been around for several years now and saying the wrong thing can land you in court and jail.
