I have no expectarions that he will do any of the things for which we social conservatives are so anxious,

The cynic in me thinks that even if we had a pure conservative in office, the Supreme Court would just overrule anything of value anyways.

I believe you're correct. There wouldn't really need to be much overriding done, anyway. The ‘rats are fully onboard with making society as sick as they can, and the GOPe couldn't care less (though they used to give it some lip service back when they needed conservative votes) as long as they can get continue to get paid for supporting cheap labor. It keeps coming into my mind that the only even partial success the GOPe has had on Republican platform issues in recent years is somewhat defanging the unions. I'm not a supporter of unions, for various reasons (including that they support the left in toto, including on social issues), but I find it interesting that the one success the GOP has had has been in some union-busting, and the potential parallels that might have in their push for amnesty (cheap labor) and their allegiance to the Chamber of Commerce even at the cost of conservative anger. It also ties in, somehow, with the fact that no matter how many times we the people have howled them down on the amnesty issue, the GOP continues to resurrect it in a way in which they have never bothered to resurrect the Roe v Wade, sodomite mirage, etc, issues. They will side with the rats, and the whole lot of them side with globalists/crony capitalism, on this issue, while mouthing “the issue is settled” on the other things which matter to conservatives, things we have tried to either prevent or overturn. They didn't blink a lash at funding CommieCare-yet after decades, we cut off one head of the amnesty hydra, two more grow in its place, with the support of the GOP. They want it so much (and are accomplishing so much of already through backdoor channels), that I'm afraid it may be a done deal.
