I remember what happened on the routine SF-86 form updates (or its equivalent) long about the time Clinton came in office. All of a sudden, about all of the “have you EVER....” questions became “have you in the last 5 years (or 10).....” or severely cut the amount of information you had to supply.
I remember doing DD 398s when I was 18 getting my TS when you had to go back to your birth on everything.
Yes, I recall I had to account for every street address from the day I was born and provide each and every foreign country I/we had lived in and/or traveled to along with dates. In fact, the FBI did question my old neighbors as I had some initial problems with a TS in 67. When I volunteered for a specific unit in RVN I was given an ITS by the 5th Group S-2 and CO. After several months it became a regular TS. The trouble was all over two drinking buddies in high school who had sold some surf boards. Apparently they stole them. No way would these jerks get a TS back in the 60’s.
