Donald Trump on Kim Davis case: ‘The Supreme Court has ruled’
Washington Times ^ | 09/04/2015 | David Sherfinski

Posted on 09/04/2015 5:12:31 AM PDT by GIdget2004

Bottom line, host Joe Scarborough said, is that if Supreme Court makes a decision, that’s the law of land, right?

“You have to go with it,” Mr. Trump said. “The decision’s been made, and that is the law of the land.”

“She can take a pass and let somebody else in the office do it in terms of religious, so you know, it’s a very … tough situation, but we are a nation, as I said yesterday, we’re a nation of laws,” he said. “And I was talking about borders and I was talking about other things, but you know, it applies to this, also, and the Supreme Court has ruled."

Except, what can you do about it....until the court reverses itself.

Don't blame the frog marching on Trump.

And that is why we need Cruz as AG....not President.

Ywa, and like it or not he is following the Rule of Law...

We cannot accept one thing as wrong because we do not like the outcome. We as a nation elected these folks ans we cannot start advocating anarchy as they are.

Cruz is an excellent candidate but I do not feel he has the standing or experience needed for this time and the scale of the mess.

Love him or hate him Donald is fearless and has run large multi-element companies. This is not a small thing to unravel decades of sloth and patronage simply with rhetoric. Trump-Cruz works, the team goes forth and rocks the world with the Revived America and the Cruz is in perfrct position to keep it going.

Keep the faith and stop reacting to each little bit as if it is the key to everything, this is much much much bigger than just Abortion rights, and as a Minister it is the truth as I know it

God Bless America!

Didn’t The Supreme Court once RULE that blacks are property?

Would your opinion change if a Muslim clerk at an alcohol control board refused to issue liquor licenses or a Muslim USDA inspector refused to inspect pork.

No. Since both of your examples are hires and not elected officials, I'd want the employees reassigned. I'd suspect that it would take out-of-control judges to stop such reassignments.

I suspect the gay couples weren't looking to get married (they could've gone to another court), they were looking to marginalize Christian doctrine. Since there were alternatives, I don't understand how the judge's action was anything except a slam at Christianity.

Or a sheriff released deportable criminal aliens? The gaystapo sure isn’t pulling for the rule of law there. Why should we give them a freebie here?

When Trump is President, and liberals start “civilly disobeying” SCOTUS decisions they object to and are arrested as a result, whose side will you be on?

> Goodbye Trump! Hello Cruz! It takes situations like this to see where a man’s heart is!

This is the turning point. Trump has not examined this issue clearly otherwise he wouldn’t have opened his muth and inserted his foot so quickly. I mean a government employed was put in jail for failing to do her job? Well damn they got a hell of a lot more arresting to do? No she got arrested because she would bend to the will of a protected class that’s loved by the president because he’s a homo himself. And o to top it offthey arrested her for her religious beliefs. I bet they wouldn’t do that to a a judge of a Sharia court. Their heads would be lopped off and they’d be shot.

Not blaming DT for the frog march but he should be as outraged by it as his supporters.

What is the LAW in the state of Kentucky?
The Clerk is an employee of the state, not the Feds.
Does there not have to be some legislation at the state level, some written law to follow?
As SCOTUS cannot WRITE laws, but is essentially an appelate court, what is the clerk to do?
Or, pray tell, what is the SPECIFIC law that MUST be followed?
And don’t regurgitate “Gay Marriage is legal”, what is the text of the current law?

The gaystapo sure isn’t pulling for the rule of law there. Why should we give them a freebie here?

Because we are the ones who are supposed to understand the importance of the rule of law.

If we want to complain about a sheriff who won't issue carry permits, or a police chief who won't enforce immingration law, then we need to also complain about a clerk who won't issue marriage licenses.

You can't pick and choose. Either our public servants are supposed to follow the law, or they are all little tyrants enforcing their own religion.

If only the courts and executive branch weren't making them up as they go along...instead of the irrelevant Congress.

It's too that isn't what she's basing her argument on. But her statement that she doesn't have to do it because it violates her personal beliefs I can't go along with. She should be basing it on the 10th amendment and scotus overreach, not claiming a 1st amendment right to decide which parts of the job she will or won't do. Cruz saying that this means no Christian can hold any government job is absurd too. Is he saying that every government job has something objectionable to Christians? And if anyone has any religious objection that prevents them from doing a job they should be able to not do it keep the position? Cruz is too smart a lawyer to believe that.

The law is that distinctions between sexes on marriage laws are null.

Yes, let’s cut our nose off to spite our face. That will really show him!

So when 7% Cruz goes up against the likes of Hillary or Biden, while our country becomes Greece, importing illegals from all over, and Iran nukes us in 10 years, I hope you find comfort in knowing you made a stand against gay marriage. Bravo!

Yes, let’s dump Trump based on ONE issue.

Yes, let’s dump Trump for not flapping his gums on this issue while giving Cruz a pass for jumping in the sack with Paul Amnesty Ryan to enable Obamatrade and other secret Obama deals.

What Cruz did on TPA as an elected official is far worse than Trump refusing to get pulled into this issue. Yet the one issue warriors and Cruz supporters refuse to see that.
