Tea Party Resurges In Kentucky AS One of Mitch McConnell’s Biggest Enemies Is Back

Battered by a bitter contest for a Senate seat in Kentucky last year, both of the main contestants, Mitch McConnell and Matt Bevin, still nurse deep bruises.

McConnell, of course, prevailed in the 2014 race upsetting many conservatives who had hoped Bevin would unseat the long-time senator. After the contest, Bevin refused to support him.

Last month, Bevin rekindled his political career and became the Republican Party’s candidate for governor of Kentucky. After Bevin secured the nomination, McConnell publicly endorsed Bevin in a terse statement, crediting him for running a smart campaign and saying, “I’m certainly going to support him for governor. We need to go in a different direction in this state.”

Now a new, outside group has stepped up to help usher Bevin into the governor’s mansion.

He’s too busy making sure Iran comes up for a vote and making sure Planned Parenthood is funded for yet another year.

He and bonehead have been tremendous failures. They are unwilling to do anything with the majorities we gave them. 2016 will be different.

McC and Boehner have been failures since they were elected the first time and particularly since 2014.

Unless Matt Bevin is elected, Right to Work legislation will never come to Kentucky. Unions are fighting RTW with all their might and money.

A governor can appoint a senator only if there’s a vacancy, and only if the law allows it.
