Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina offered her take on the growing controversy of the Kentucky county clerk who is refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses because it violates her religious conscience.
Fiorina spoke on Hugh Hewitt's radio show Thursday saying that religious liberty is clearly under attack but that rights of religious conscience is less clear when an individual is an "arm of the government."
"First, I think that we must protect religious liberties with great passion and be willing to expend a lot of political capital to do so now because it's clear religious liberty is under assault in many, many ways," Fiorina declared.
"Having said that, when you are a government employee, I think you take on a different role," she added. "When you are a government employee as opposed to say, an employee of another kind of organization, then in essence, you are agreeing to act as an arm of the government."
Fiorina, who has risen in the polls after a strong debate performance, is expected to be in CNN's Sept. 16 debate featuring top tier candidates, which is determined by polling.

The facts are:
#1 She wasn’t hired, she was elected to follow the law which provides for issuing marriage licenses to opposite sex couples.
#2 The USSC ruled the law unconstitutional and therefore no longer is a law. The legislature will have to write a new law before it is legal to issue these licenses.
#3 There is no law in Kentucky that says she must issue marriage licenses to same sex couples.
#4 One option states have in dealing with this is not to issue marriage licenses at all. This is being considered by a number of states.
By the way, What’s with the two periods instead of one. It’s kind of ignorant to write that way.

My dream would be that the Constitution is changed to favor the doctrines of the Christan and Jewish religions.
Where the issue ultimately goes depends on who we are becoming as a country. Conservatives need to put up more of a fight than they’ve done so far. Civilized countries, however, are getting flabbier.

Huckabee, Santorum and Walker are also standing very strong on our 1st A. rights.
Actually, it is not Kim Davis, but the judge/justices who should be in jail for thwarting our Constitutional 1st AND 10th Amendment rights.
