First three minutes 50 secs of this afternoon’s press conference by Donald Trump about the pledge.

Saw the entire 20+ minute plus press conference, which was outstanding.

I think the key to this for Trump is for his support to become so massive and overwhelming that no RNC dirty tricks or fraud can overcome it. Same goes with the media. If the media and GOPe can overcome Donald with their sleaze, they will, even fudging the numbers. Its easy to make 45% look like 33%. Its not so easy to pull the wool over the country’s eyes if Donald wins in a blowout. If 65%+support Trump for nomination, they can’t hide that, can’t bring him down through some arcane technicality. So we must all stand behind Trump, be vocal, and bring more support in.

Mr. Trump is a wise man. Now, I may vote for him.

“So is Trump. I’ll stop when he stops.”

Is that a pledge that you’ll continue to “attack” Trump?

Please say yes cuz you’re doing a great job.

trump never was going to be a conservative. but i do wonder what he thinks he bought from the GOP for this particular sellout. i suppose he might think he can use this to pick off the more low information GOP moderates.

time will tell.

I think he got another day or two of airtime for signing off on a pledge that every other candidate signed as a matter of course. Personally, I think it was a mistake for him to sign. However, I don’t think it a big mistake, nor do I think it hurts him much at this point, either. Jebito and the Chamber of Cronies were going to run their “Death to America...and Trump” campaign anyway. So I don’t see that it changes that one iota.

I think that Trump has enough of the vote locked up that he could scuttle any other gop candidates campaign in the general. And I think that’s probably the reason why he decided the upside was better than the downside risk.

Like I say, I think it was a mistake because it’s a one party system and the gop will happily lose the election to get one of their cronies in the rat faction elected. I don’t think its a huge deal though.

Just reported the wrong date was on the agreement. 8-3-15 instead of 9-3. Mmmmm?

As long as he is running, yes, I will. When he starts doing Apprentice: Presidential edition next year, he can do what he wants.

He’s not going to run third party. He would have to raise $1 billion. He’s not stupid enough to spend his own money.

LOL!

I take thst back. I think I just figured out what he pulled. It’ll never be proved, but if he did what I think he did, he just secured his flank.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of any candidate having to sign a “loyalty oath” towards a political party. I’m sure it’s not legally binding, but there’s something Orwellian and off-putting about the whole business.

I don’t know what he bought, but he didn’t give up anything since he wasn’t going to run anyway.

Actually, my analysis was incorrect. If he did what I think he did, he just covered his flank very nicely.

And no, he won’t run third party. Too expensive and no reason to do so.

Help him because this means when he gets the nomination all the other primary candidates have signed the pledge to support HIM.

Double-edged sword.

Trump is clever, he is betting he will get the nomination and when he gets the nomination the other candidates are stuck. . .why. . because the other candidates signed the same pledge and are bound to step in line with Trumps run and support him.

Clever.

Indeed, you are correct.

Trump is clever, he is betting he will get the nomination and when he gets the nomination the other candidates are stuck. . .why. . because the other candidates signed the same pledge and when Trump gets the nomination all those other candidates are required to throw their support to him because, after all, he will be the republican nominee.

Clever.
