Pope to say D.C. Mass in Spanish in bow to 'Hispanic population'
Washington Examiner ^ | 2 Sep 15 | Paul Bedard

In a bow to the huge U.S. Hispanic population and the Catholic Church's advocacy of immigration, Pope Francis plans to give his Washington Mass Sept. 23 in Spanish, according to Cardinal Donald William Wuerl.

"The Mass is going to be in Spanish," Wuerl said Wednesday while previewing the pope's trip to reporters.

"It's a recognition of how large the Hispanic population in the United States is," said Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington. "And he's coming as the first pope from the New World and the predominant language in this hemisphere is Spanish," added Wuerl of the Argentine-born pope.

Francis, meanwhile, will use his address to Congress to call for bipartisanship, something missing for several years as Republicans and President Obama have jockeyed for power. In that speech he will speak English.

I’m still amazed they were able to get Benedict to resign so they could get this marxist plant in there.

The first Third World Pope and that is where his loyalties lie. He should have visited Mexico City and stayed out of the USA.

I hope Trump gets somewhat up to speed on Catholic Doctrine. He should consult the Catechism, but priests who have been pushed aside for reasons of their authenticity.these are going to be the smartest if, that is, they would be willing

He just needs to be on target as he has. Been. Pissing off the right people. The Ted cruxes. As far as I know he should start with Fr Rutler, NYC, Cardinal Burke, formerly of St. Louis now it think he’s in tge Vatican.

This is all against doctrine. It’s a real challenge for Trump but in the world of spiritual warfare, which is what our country is up against, he will find unprecedented bs for which he might not quickly know where to turn for counsel

I left in the 1980’s.

I lived in California at the time, and Roger Mahoney was the cardinal in Los Angeles.

He openly called for people to vote for democrats, was for open borders, income redistribution, gun grabbing, etc. I finally had enough.

Nothing has changed over the years with the U.S. cardinals and bishops, and now the leftist pope.

Well the Constitution is about the ideas behind it, and the church is about Christ.

If a segment of Christendom forgets its first love, well the opening chapters of Revelation are pretty suggestive about what said segment is in danger of.

That he will do in English.

The last several Popes have been appointing affirmative-action Spanish-speaking bishops in the border states—who have been tirelessly advocating for open borders—which means the importation of more and more and more pro-abortion voters.

In other words, the POPES have been making war on the United States, by appointing ANTI-AMERICAN GENERALS to spearhead the illegal alien invasion of the U.S.

I’ve heard this pope described as intellectually lazy. I think he’s just plain lazy.

In what language will the Argentinian communist tell us to open our borders and destroy our homeland?

Trump would say "Argentinian".

I left 48 years ago, but I went to a nondenominational conservative Christian church.

As have I.

http://ncronline.org/news/faith-parish/hidden-exodus-catholics-becoming-protestants

One in three people in the US raised a Catholic no longer identifies as so. But I left 20 years ago and became a born again Christian because as a Catholic I had zero relationship with Christ, and I had never really accepted Him. I went to CCD for years, was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Roman church. I went to confession. I attended Mass every week. I said the rosary. I had prayer cards. I wore medals around my neck of dead people. I went through the motions.

But I wasn't living life as the Bible said, and sure had not accepted Jesus. I was going to Hell - and I knew it. It was very real to me, and terrifying.

When I finally accepted Christ and realized what Biblical Grace was (not the Catholic definition of grace), I was overjoyed, relieved, humbled, and awed beyond measure. I had starred at crucifixes and paintings of Christ on the cross for decades. I never put 2 + 2 together and realized what Salvation was really all about. To this day, when I see depictions Jesus being crucified, I still am awed that He did that for us.

“Francis, meanwhile, will use his address to Congress to “

For what it’s worth, he may as well give that in Spanish, also.
