Russia Puts Boots on the Ground in Syria against ISIS

Russia Puts Boots on the Ground in Syria

....Several sources consulted for this story said the Pentagon is being unusually cagey about Russia’s reinvigorated role in Syria. A former U.S. military officer told The Daily Beast, “I’m being told things like, ‘We really can’t talk about this.’ That indicates to me that there’s some truth to these allegations.”

Some of them are verifiable. On Aug. 22, the Bosphorus Naval News website showed the Alligator-class Russian ship Nikolai Filchenkov, part of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, two days earlier passing through Istanbul’s famed waterway en route to an unknown location in the Mediterranean (hint, hint).

But what was remarkable about the Filchenkov was that military equipment was visible on deck—namely, Kamaz trucks and, judging by the tarpaulin outlines, at least four BTR infantry fighting vehicles. (This doesn’t include any matériel that might have been stored in the ship’s below-deck cargo hold.) ......

But what’s most intriguing is what the National Defense Force’s official media arm might have accidentally disclosed in one of its broadcast “news reports” from the Latakia front. The channel exhibited the fighting vehicle in action but also captured unmistakable Russian spoken in the background; Russian that was giving military instruction to the crew of the BTR-82A. Here’s a translation:

2:03: “Come on, quickly!”

2:06: “Throw!”

2:10: “Again! Do it again!”

2:30: “Peacock, Peacock, we are moving out.”

“Peacock” likely refers to a call sign for a Russian soldier; i.e., whoever’s operating the armored vehicle. Given that the BTR-82A was firing in the video, this was either a training exercise caught on tape or (more likely) footage from active combat operations. It’s certainly compelling evidence that Russians have embedded with the Syrian military.

[Russia that close to Israel, is not a good thing]

No, it most definitely is not.

But, things are going to play out as prophesied.

Wonder if this is leading to the hook in the jaw of Ezekiel 38?

I’m sure the Iran “deal” is leading to Ezekiel 38.

It all does seem to be coming together.

I think Israel may have waited too long to go after Iran’s nuke programs too.

Nature hates a vacuum. Someone will lead. This will not end well for anyone.

Seems to me Western European and some Eastern European countries should be getting together to make the refugees’ homelands safe for them.

If ISIS exists next month we know this is a false report.

Russian boots on the ground are there because of Kerry's and Zero's surrender document with Iran. Now we just sit back and watch, there will be a little something for everyone.

I guess all those "Putin is done with Syria" stories were total BS.

My guess is the Russians are in Syria to defend her from us and our surrogates, ISIS.

And we won’t even lob a few bombs into ISIS training camps, apparently.

It is dangerous either way: Russia there, Russia not there. All I can see right now is how those ISIS monsters are treating everyone, especially women and children. They must be stopped. It should be that the whole world joins forces against them. The U.S. under Obama does not care. He only cares which nations are disallowing homo activities and recognition and rewards. Murder. Rape. Slavery. Torture. Not such a big thing to him especially if the victims are Christians or Jews while the victors are Muslim.

What does the Iran deal have to do with fighting ISIS?

While I understand your logic, we basically got Russia out of the global influence business at the fall of the U. S. S. R.

The USSR was a ruthless supporter of terrorists in those days.

Russia is not anti-ISIS. It is anti the enemies of Syria.

If ISIS leaves Syria alone, Russia will leave it alone.

Russia may not act like it today, but it is stridently anti-Israel. Vladimir Putin is from the old school KGB. He is not Israel’s friend.

Bible prophecy, “I know, I know...” predicts Russia will confront Israel in the “last days”.

Many people think that’s nonsense. When it comes to Bible predictions and end times, it’s hard not to see it as being quite accurate up to this point.

I don’t dismiss it out of hand, and anything that brings an old pariah back into the region is not good.

Russia is now involved with Egypt too.

Not good. That puts Russia on each end of Israel.

Oy, haven’t heard about that one I guess; missed it.

That would be the King of the South, Egypt as well as the King of the North, Syria. That has some implications as well.

“A bedrock of US foreign policy in the Middle East for the last 60 years was to keep Russia out.”

That was my first thought. That thought inspired Nixon to drastic action in the Yom Kippur War in 1973.
