Negative views of Hillary Clinton have jumped to nearly their highest on record in ABC News/Washington Post polls, while Donald Trump’s personal popularity has grown more polarized along racial and ethnic lines.

Jeb Bush, even while generating far less controversy than Trump, is seen almost as negatively, by 17 points overall, 38-55 percent. Bush’s favorable rating is flat while his unfavorable score is up 8 points since July, including 9-point increases among Republicans and independents alike. He’s also lost ground among conservatives, and is especially weak among strong conservatives, a group in which Trump far surpasses Bush.

I have no interest in Carson really. He seems like a nice man, but the lack of any alarm about him from the GOPe makes me think they have something on him and can and will torpedo him whenever it is best for them.

Seems to me I read a couple of Carson Op Eds posted here from Townhall I think about a year, year and a half ago.

They certainly read as “unifier”. The kind of unifier that said “go along, get along” and that you have to vote for the second-most evil candidate and the GOP establishment.

I remember as getting pretty irate about it. I’ll not be voting for him under any circumstance.

HHS needs a cold-hearted managerial type that will attack the incompetence and corruption, shrinking the department accordingly.

I don't think that's Carson's metier.

I agree Carson is a fine man but I do not believe that he should be POTUS for reasons similar to yours. Additionally I feel that so many things are so FUBAR because of Obama that electing a Black will be virtually impossible. I do not intend that to be a racist opinion but a realistic one. Obama has not helped the USA one bit in any aspect of his job. And with so many blacks around the country asserting their “black privilege” (which now seems to include back-shooting murder), I feel it simply the wrong time to try to elect a black POTUS. It won’t happen. Obama backlash this time around will doom any black candidate, especially a Republican one.

Remember, not all, heck not even most voters are the thinking type of voter that we see on conservative blogs. Most do not assess the candidate’s strong and weak points and then make a well-thought-out selection. Unfortunately most voters simply pull the party lever and go on about their business. And if one party offers a black person for POTUS, especially this time around, they are toast.

I grew up when people unabashedly loved their country. Yes, people disagreed strongly about a multitude of issues (mostly the Vietnam War at the time), but virtually everyone LOVED the US (radical hippies not included). Oh, and I knew a bunch of immigrants, family and non-family alike, who were proud to be here, GRATEFUL to be here (mostly they were Jewish and from Europe, having gotten out before the gas chambers got cranked up). They ALL learned English, the ALL became citizens, they ALL taught their kids to love this country, forget the old one and become good and productive citizens.

Then came the Kennedys, who foisted the 1965 immigration act on us...and changed the country both for the worse and forever. New immigrants were mostly banned from the countries that had provided most of our immigrants for several hundred years, to be replaced with Turd Worlders whom we somehow or other “owed” - for what, I don’t know and still don’t. Add to that the Anchor Baby nonsense and the “family reunification” nonsense (wouldn’t want the wittle immigrants to be lonely - like millions were before, millions who dealt with it). Now we are importing entire villages from Somalia, India, Mexico, Peru, etc. - and these people are on welfare to a far larger extent than natives, they largely REFUSE to assimilate, and they vote Democrat by an 8-2 margin (gee, what a surprise - NOT!).

We fix immigration - stop further illegal immigration, force a lot of the existing illegals out (you can’t get them all, but I’ll settle for 95%), stop Anchor Babies (it just takes a simple law saying that we have no jurisdiction over the children of a couple who are not here legally at the time of a child’s birth) and stop family reunification for anyone who arrived illegally - either its that, or our country is GONE. Literally. The Dems will control the entire political process, and we conservatives will get NOTHING that we want, EVER - not on abortion, gun control, religious freedom, taxes, regulations, environmental laws, national defense, affirmative action - ANY issue that you care to name, we will lose on it...FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES. Read Ann Coulter’s “Adios America” and you will understand with great clarity why this is the case.

To me, there is now only one candidate who, having the guts to talk about this in similar terms, has even a chance of implementing such policies - and that is obviously Donald Trump. I am now on his corner.

Where is Carson on immigration? That is THE critical issue of this election - read Ann Coulter’s “Adios America” and you will understand with great clarity why this is the case.

We lose on this issue, and the country as we have known it is finished, forever. The entire country will become like California - politically and economically. You want that, vote for the nice guy. I used to believe that we just had to find the right (i.e. perfect) GOP candidate, and we’d win with sheer reason. Nope, there ain’t no such animal. I’ve come to understand that General Patton was right when he said:

“The perfect is the enemy of the good.”

Right now we need someone who is not beholden to big corporate interests (corps want cheap labor, and don’t care if the middle class has a decent life or a future), who loves the country and culture that made his life good, and who is not afraid to fight for it. Business as usual will bring in results as usual - and since the Republicans are always worried about being loved (an impossible goal) and the Dems are worried ONLY about winning - then the result will be that we lose and wind up with a permanent Dem majority. Yeah, that’d be a great result from the conservative perspective - NOT!

No, it is not an accident - and the exact same factors are at work here. We are simply not as far down the road as they are...yet.

I believe that Europe is just plain gone - there is no hope, and it is just a matter of time before all of Europe (save England, for a while) will be a Turd World cesspool. Russia I exclude because it is only partly European - and I believe also that Putin has the guts to fight for his nation (whatever other flaws he has, and they are legion).

We, OTOH, are not yet gone. We can reverse course, but we MUST do it soon or forever forego the possibility. It is THIS election that is the most critical since the one in 1860 - our nationhood is at much at stake now as it was then. Let the Dems win, or elect the wrong Republican, and there will be amnesty and this country will move from its historically English-Dutch culture to that of the Turd World - i.e. America as an idea will be gone, relegated to the history books (if the Lefties allow even that). FYI, I have no English or Dutch blood in me - I’m from Polish and Russian Jewish stock, but I understood from Day 1 that our culture (English/Dutch, regardless of where the actual people originate) is the only one that could have given birth to the liberties and the decency that we have taken for granted. I see it nowhere else, save where WE (or the English) have imposed it (Japan) or inspired it (some of Europe, still, Canada and Israel). Everywhere else is a Hellhole - there is no true liberty as we understand it.

We either fix this NOW - this election - or we’re sunk. Let amnesty get passed, or let one conservative SC justice get replaced with (yet another) Leftist - and we are toast. IMHO, only Donald Trump has a chance to do this. Yes, he has many flaws; no, he’s not even close to being a doctrinaire conservative...but (again IMHO) he’s the only one with that combination of experience, guts and appeal beyond the traditional Republican electorate that’s out there. Cruz I love - but he doesn’t have Trump’s experience or widespread appeal. Trump is it right now - sad, but true, that this once-great nation can only produce one electable candidate who can save it from the traitors within. I guess that Reagan was right when he said:

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

You’re welcome. Understand that the bit about the English-Dutch culture comes from Ann Coulter in “Adios America” (a book that I started and finished last weekend, and which I heartily recommend to EVERYONE that cares at all about this country and its ideals. The rest just comes from the heart, from my anguish at seeing my country being inexorably destroyed by the Leftists. These are the destroyers that my paternal grandfather ran from in Russia in 1923...and they followed him, the bastards.
