Reaaaaally? so it’s now ‘science’ to say “CO2 traps and back radiates heat, man produces CO2- therefore all global warming is due to man”? Let’s look at some actual sicnece and math, shall we?
Man produces so little CO2 that there is no way this side of hell that it could possibly even begin causing climate change- our atmosphere contains 6 quadrillion tons of air molecules- man produces just 400 ppm CO2 meaning that the atmosphere has only 0.00022% CO2 in it produced by man
There is NO way 0.00022% of our atmosphere can possibly capture enough escaping heat and back radiate it at a FRACTION of that amount that it does capture, and cause global climate change- none- period! There are several reasons why it can’t- one, there is not nearly enough- there isn’t even 1 100’th of a percent of the atmosphere to capture escaping heat- meaning that 99.99978% of the heat blows right on past man’s 0.00022% CO2
Secondly, what little heat does get captured by our 0.00022% - only a tiny fraction of that actually gets back radiated I nthe right direction (back towards earth)- the majority of the heat captured gets radiated out to space
Thirdly, what little fraction of the heat does make it’s way back to earth quickly gets overwhelmed by the now cooler earth surface temperatures- it quickly reaches equilibrium and NO change in temperature changes happen because there is such an insignificant amount of heat that makes it’s way back to earth that it is IMPOSSIBLE for such a small amount to cause ANY temperature change- period!
Unfortunately we don’t have any presidential candidates with spine enough to put the lie to ‘man-caused’ global climate change by citing these FACTS about the insignificant amount of CO2 that man produces
PS: One m ore point- rising temps ALWAYS precede CO2 rises In the atmosphere by many many decades- proving that CO2 does NOT cause warming- Scientific evidence all points to this FACT
It’s very very sad watching the world fall for one of the biggest and most blatant lies ever- ‘man-caused’ global warming is a sheer lie! Climates change- always have, always will- but one thing is CERTAIN- man has NEVER been the cause of it
rising temps ALWAYS precede CO2 rises, CO2 is rising now, when did the temperatures rise? The nearest I can tell the lag is 500-1000 years, so the rise from the Dark Ages Cold Period to the Medieval Warm Period would be the relevant rise. But that rise only caused about 5-10ppm of CO2 rise at most.
Currently CO2 is rising 2-3 ppm every year. If that was caused by past warming, there must have been warming centuries ago at the rate of 0.2 to 0.3 C per year using the ratio of 100ppm for 10C in the chart above.
If past warming is not causing the current rise, then something else is. Volcanoes are not a very large source contributing about 1/100 of what fossil fuel burning and other human sources contribute. If the current rise is caused by vegetation changes, then we need to explain why the CO2 rises and falls by 10ppm every season
That rise is when vegetation decays and releases CO2 in fall and winter and that fall is when vegetation grows in the spring and summer in the northern hemisphere (with a little lag).

I have no doubt that you know MUCH more than I about this, but I’ve read elsewhere that as a trace gas, the 400 ppm figure was total CO2, not the figure attributable to man.
Am I wrong on this?

But they remind me of the "scientific" theory of "spontaneous generation" from the middle ages. Wrap a cloth around a piece of cheese and put it in a cabinet, come back later and open the cabinet and, voila! A rat has spontaneously generated! They believed that if two unrelated objects were found together, then one must cause the other.
