Trump Now Out-polling Jeb 8-1 in Iowa (New Gravis Poll Trump-31.7% Carson-15.8% Bush-4.1%)

Donald Trump is maintaining a commanding 2-1 lead in the latest poll of GOP caucus goers in Iowa, and his only rival in double digits is another political novice, Dr. Ben Carson.

Former frontrunner FL Gov. Jeb Bush has tumbled into eighth place despite his $100-million bankroll.

In a Gravis Marketing poll of 507 Iowa Republicans conducted last Friday and Saturday, Trump has 31.7 percent to Carson’s 15.8 and Bush’s 4.1 percent. A Monmouth University poll released yesterday had showed Trump and Carson running neck and neck with 23 percent – much to the excitement of the GOP establishment, including Fox News Channel.

But today’s Gravis poll seems more in line with other recent surveys in the Hawkeye State, where the first caucuses of 2016 will be held five months from today on Feb. 1.

Trump is dominant across almost all demographic groups, leading Carson and Cruz among Hispanics with 29 percent. He also won a plurality among GOP voters who described themselves as both pro-life and pro-choice, those in the 18-49 age group, and Republicans declaring themselves moderate or “slightly liberal.”

Among Roman Catholics in Iowa, the Presbyterian Trump polls 40 percent to 11 percent for Carson. Bush, a Catholic convert who often claims to be guided by his faith, polled at 0.8 percent among his coreligionists.

No. It was not an outlier. It was an out-and-out-liar.

See post #62:

You were lied to , or to be nicer, misled. The poll was if you combined their first and second place polling numbers they were tied. In other words If Trump had 20% first choice numbers and 3% second place numbers he would be at 23%. If Carson had 3% first place choices and 20% second place choices.. they would be tied at 23%.. Cute wasn’t it?

If true that’s nice about Carson being friends with Trump, but that doesn’t explain the discrepancies with the Iowa polls.

Nor does it explain Jeb’s need for Carson in Rove’s “splitter strategy” — splitting the vote with hand picked candidates for that purpose, allowing Jeb to walk away with the nomination with only 20 percent of the vote.

I also believe that keeping Fiorina out of the “big table” debates is part of the Jeb strategy. She worked for Bush right after she left HP. Bushbot.

Someone on FR asked me to clarify how Fiorina went after Palin in her book earlier this year... it’s what she didn’t say about Palin that is troubling for its purposeful strategizing. Fiorina = Bushie RINO; bought and paid for.

What specifically did the GOPe do to boost Carson? Did they run pro-Carson ads or go door to door?

They manipulated the poll in a dishonest way. They combined first-and-second choices.

If Trump had a 20% first choice, and a 3% second choice, that was counted as 23%. If Carson had a 3% first choice, and a 20% second choice, that was also counted as 23%.

They lied outright.

They are playing Variation of good cop /bad cop against the faux

The establishment has always been able to control the distribution of early primary/caucus states to eliminate their competition. Trump and Company are beating them at their own game.

Media bump. All of a sudden he went from hit piece articles about how he supported Planned Parenthood selling baby parts (he didn’t) to articles on how he could heal the GOP. You don’t see this as a coordinated effort, more power to you. I’m not that naive.

Laz, I just looked at the Monmouth Poll and couldn't find evidence of that. See if you can find it...Link to Monmouth Poll.

The data in question is on pages 3 and 4.

.

Sounds like football fans at the end of the regular season talking about how many other teams have to lose so their team can make the playoffs.

So you tell me, what's the difference between selecting NCAA Sweet-16 College Basketball Teams ...

and RNC-DNC presidential candidates six (6) months before the Iowa Presidential Caucus ?

It's all about numbers, strengths, weaknesses, money on hand, who will pre-emptively strike against whom (Trump vs. Bush), Kascisc vs. Huckabee), major financial donors (new guys vs. donors abandoning candidates like Rick Perry, Rand Paul, Bobby Jondal and ... ahemmmm ... Yeb Bush) ...

and political polls ... which like them or not ... are often the best predictor whether donor money will be siccessful or wasted) ...

The voting public usually prefers a "new face" who's a preceived "winner" ...

that's why Rick Perry, Rand Paul, Chris Christy and Mike Huckabee will exit before Christmas ...

lack of $$$ money.

Ted Cruz has stayed away from attacking Yeb Bush directly ... Ted and Trump have decided (I believe) to let Donald Trump "carpet bomb" Yeb into oblivion ...

Meanwhile, if it's true that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz will make a joint speech in Washington (DC) in a bout two weeks ...

denouncing the "Obama-Iran Treason Agreement" ...

the most noteworthy thing to watch is who is NOT invited to stand on the stage with them.

You can be SURE that Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Huckabee and John Kasisch WILL NOT be in the limelight.

That's by design.

And just like the Donald Trump "Magic Helicopter Ride" at the Iowa State Fair ...

you KNOW that Donald Trump has the AUDACITY, brains and BILLIONS to politically blitzkreig the GOPe for months to come ...

.

Of course, this is how the GOPe thinks. It’s how Abe Lincoln thought. It’s called political strategizing. We need more people who can strategize/hypothesize like this on FR.

Manipulation. Of the poll is/was being used as a divisive factor. Trying to get them to attack each other. It won’t happen.

Carly is also being funded by Univison. If they wanted.her in she would be in

Jeb (or rather, Jeb’s Wall Street and International bankers) are funneling money to Perry, Carson, Rand, all of their vote-splitters.
