According to the left, 10 Things They Learn By You Carrying A Gun Every Day:

  1. You are insane. Because you are insane, guns should be forbidden to you.

  2. You are a racist and hope every day to kill a black man.

  3. You are a paranoid who thinks the government wants to spy on you through the NSA.

  4. You are evil.

  5. All we want to do is ban every single gun. After that, you can have all the guns that are left. Come on. I mean, 'Common Sense' for Gods sake.

  6. You hate children and want to shoot them.

  7. =8^o

  8. You should be rounded up in concentration camps and put into gas 'showers' like the Nazis did.

  9. You are a nutjob because you think we want to round you up in concentration camps and put you into gas 'showers' like the Nazis did.

  10. I hate you.

That’s not fair! Real men don’t carry purses. And you’d probably look ridiculous in a pair of my “tacticool” pants...

I’ve always found a purse handy. And no worries about printing

As bad a rap as "off body" carry gets, I think there's much to commend a style of carry that doesn't change with your wardrobe.

Who knows? You could start a trend! Enough people do it and no one would dare to make fun of a man with a purse again!!! ;)

I know what you mean. I can’t count the times I’ve washed my miniature Swiss Army Knife. Too much stuff in your pockets and your butt crack shows.

If your wife were to travel to N. Idaho she would find that cargo pants are STILL all the rage here. Of course, we’re about 20 years behind the rest of the world (which is fine by me).

I like BullHide Belts. Not inexpensive but you do get what you pay for.

The current trend of casual “cargo pants” for everyday wear presents a unique opportunity. I wear 511 brand “tactical pants” at work with lots of pockets to hold the gadgets I need.

Same here.

Guns are not my thing.

If that truly is ingrained in you, a gun would be worse than useless. A study of WW II US infantrymen that showed that something like 1/3 of them hesitated when firing at an enemy soldier, because that soldier was a human life.

If that's you, consider carrying pepper spray. Not the junk they sell at supermarket counters, get the good stuff. Fox is a good brand, and is available on Amazon. Take a look at the 5.3 SHU version.

Then go to YouTube for Fox's videos on how to best use their spray.

td’s Carry Lecture

Some here think they can carry a Desert Eagle in an external chest holster like it’s wearing a bow tie.

News flash, pistoleros: Open carry scares people.

I remember a gun writer/LEO who gave a demonstration, walking on stage in a suit. No one noticed anything unusual.
He proceeded to unlimber from his person a half dozen pistols, ranging from a .45 to .40, a .357, a .38 to .32 and .22.

This time of year I can and do always carry a Springfield XDS .45 in a De Santis pocket holster, front pocket, and two mags in left pocket—in my corduroy shorts (practically lederhosen) held up with Perry belt suspenders.
And a Glock 19 or Ruger SR9, with extra mag, in a belt pack.
A minute after finishing, I forget they’re there and if anyone notices, I’ve never had any indication.
Who wants some lefty drama queen screaming like Ned Flanders because he sees your piece?

It’s not you, SES1066. I saw a guy the other day in civilian clothes with a Glock, open carry on his hip and I did a double-take.
As far as I’m concerned, at least in my area it’s like wearing a too-tight Speedo to the pool, but more alarming.

Just because you can do something doesn’t necessarily mean you should ... with all objections as if stated to the resident `Earps’.

I’ve actually started taking mine on trips when visiting states that recognize Nevada CCW. My Utah is pending and planning a trip up to Oregon to get theirs soon. Too bad none cover for trips to nearby Kalifornia.

and your butt crack shows

I long for the days when the word "crack" was mentioned, all us guys reached down to pull up our pants.

I OC all of the time and rarely do people even notice. Are you speaking from your personal experience or merely spouting off talking points against OC?

I carry a Smith & Wesson Shield, 40 caliber, That gives me 13-14 rounds with the extra magazine. Since I typically hit what I aim at, I wonder how many times is someone in a situation where 13-14 isn’t enough?

My wife was out for dinner one night with some friends, some of whom are decidedly anti-gun and can’t understand why someone would carry. Walking to the car after dinner, the group noticed a couple of suspicious characters hanging around a dark corner of the parking lot. Looking to my wife, the group asked the same question, “You do have your gun with you, right?”

That one rang a bell. YEARS ago, before CCW was allowed in many states, I carried anyway. I was at a box store with my two kids when there was some kind of ruckus up near the cashiers and the loudspeaker blared for everyone to stay where they were, the police were on their way.

There were about six people standing near by (Betamax video recorder rack.) The oldest (12) says "Dad, are you gonna use your gun?" I damned near wet myself, expecting someone to rat me out.

Instead, they all moved closer to me and inadvertently I laughed to myself, thinking that these people would probably vote against anyone carrying, yet, as above, the sheepdog effect worked even then.

By time the cops got there, whoever was causing the disturbance ("waving a knife) had left.
