Trump, Carson in close fight in Iowa poll

The Bloomberg/Des Moines Register survey released on Saturday finds that the two are tied in Iowa caucus-goer support when voters’ first and second choices for the Republican coronation are combined.

Each is the first or second choice of 32 percent of respondents.

Trump won the poll overall, getting 23 percent support. Carson comes in second at 18 percent. The next-closest competitors are Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at 8 percent each.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are tied for fifth place with 6 percent support each. After them is Carly Fiorina at 5 percent, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) at 4 percent each.

Tenth place is a three-way tie between Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

“Trump and Carson, one bombastic and the other sometimes soft-spoken, could hardly be more different in their outward presentations,” said J. Ann Selzer, president of Selzer & Co., who conducted the poll, according to Bloomberg.

“Yet they’re both finding traction because they don’t seem like politicians and there’s a strong demand for that right now,” she added.

Saturday’s poll found that Trump is vastly improving his position in Iowa since launching his presidential campaign in June.

He is now rated favorably by 61 percent of Republican voters there, with 35 percent ranking him unfavorably.

The poll also found that 69 percent of first-time caucus-goers and 73 percent of Tea Party supporters are backing the outspoken billionaire.

It added that 29 percent would never vote for Trump, a number that has is half of what it was in the last Bloomberg/Des Moines Register sampling in May.

The survey found that Carson is buoyed in Iowa by his likable public persona and his vocal Christian faith.

It said that 79 percent likely GOP caucus-goers view the retired neurosurgeon favorably, the highest score in the GOP’s entire 2016 field.

He also leads the hunt for Iowa’s evangelical demographic with 23 percent of their support.

Trump is currently the frontrunner for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination across multiple national polls.

The latest RealClearPolitics average of polls has the businessman with 23.5 percent support, and Carson in second place at 10.3 percent.

He has also talked about attending other churches: “I spend just as much time in non-Seventh-day Adventist churches because I’m not convinced that the denomination is the most important thing,” he told RNS in 1999. “I think it’s the relationship with God that’s most important.”

you need to look at the polls again if you think Trump is unelectable— since in most of the last few polls he does better than any other Republican against Hitlery..

So do the seventh day Baptists, the very first baptist church in America. It founded all such and that church was a distant split from the Quaker faith.

My ancestors were signatories. Read Mary Dyer et all. She was the reason behind the freedom OF religion in the 1st amendment.

No problem. Luckily folks pick up on things pretty quick and they get corrected.

He is a Seventh-Day Adventist. So am I.

SDAs believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Saturday is their day of worship. They consider it something set aside between God and man at the end of creation. They believe it is something Christians should observe. They do not believe this law or the Ten Commandments were struck down when Christ died on the cross.

Sabbath worship starts at Friday night at sundown and continues until Saturday at sundown. This is in accordance with the creation pattern of an evening and the morning were the first day, type.

SDA’s believe in salvation through faith, but also the need to live as good a life as possible in accordance with Christ’s and Biblical teachings.

They believe in temperance and moderation in all things. A vegetarian lifestyle is encouraged. The church’s health message has been a good one, and SDAs have been recognized to live longer than the general populace. Some studies have been run.

I am not a fully practicing SDA. I would not want someone to judge the church by me.

As with all churches, I think it’s somewhat accurate to say that some apostasy has crept in. It’s still a very good church.

” The White House just ok’ed a deal for Trumps new building across the street from the White House..”

You means the leasing of the old post office on Pennsylvania Avenue and its conversion into a high-end Trump International Hotel.? That was done over 2 years ago .

My POINT is that what you wrote : “ The White House just ok’ed a deal for Trumps new building across the street from the White House ...” , contained incorrect info . Not “new “and not “ just ok’d “ ( over 2 years ago ) . Heck , it isn’t even across the street from the White House !
