Jeb: Trump's campaign is all about himself
The Hill ^ | 8/28/15 | Mark Hensch

Donald Trump's presidential campaign slogan is "Make America Great Again!" — but Jeb Bush says Trump's campaign is all about himself.

“Here’s a guy, larger than life, it’s all about him,” Bush said of the GOP presidential front-runner during a speech in Norfolk, Va. on Friday, according to The Washington Times.

“I wake up thinking, ‘Wow, people are really struggling and suffering,’” Bush said. “That’s what I focus on, that’s what I think about: How do we make sure that people can be lifted up?”

“For him, it’s all about him,” he added of Trump. “He’s tapped into this anger and angst that Washington’s not working. I totally get it.”

Bush’s remarks come as Trump leads the race for the GOP’s presidential nomination next year in national polls.

The former Florida governor argued Friday that the political establishment ignores Trump at its own peril, given the outspoken billionaire’s recent success.

“This is a guy who’s the front-runner,” Bush said. “He should be treated like a front-runner, not as some kind of alternative universe to the political system.”

“And if that’s the case, you’re [going to have] a different conversation about Mr. Trump,” he added.

Bush said he plans to best Trump for the GOP’s presidential nomination by exposing the business mogul as a false conservative.

“I respect the fact that people are supporting him for legitimate reasons of anger about the dysfunction in Washington,” he said.

“But when they hear about what his views are, the cost of building, you know, the whole immigration deal, it’s not a conservative proposal he’s making,” Bush said of Trump’s official immigration plan.

“It’s going to cost hundreds of billions of dollars, violate civil liberties, challenge our freedom in so many ways,” he added.

Hopefully, Trump plans to best Bush for the GOP’s presidential nomination by exposing the Bush dynasty dauphin as a false conservative.

And somehow, as an alternative to Trump, whose campaign is self-financed, we are supposed to regard as uniquely public-spirited the candidate who is massively funded by cheap labor interests, who campaigned on his nickname — written with an exclamation point — Jeb! — and who called conservatives “crickets” for their annoying criticism of his immigration policies.

Jeb: Trump's campaign is all about himself

Jeb goes full middle school, film at eleven.

So I see his new campaign strategist from Virginia is earning his paycheck with $hitty advice.

What do Americans look for in a candidate?

Someone likeable...Trump, like a friendly smart uncle.

Someone smart...Like Trump who obviously is smart.

Knows how business works...Obviously Trump.

Says what he means...Trump.

Believes in America...He sure talks like he does.

Understands negotiating...Trump.

Believes in the US taking back manufacturing...Trump

Understands what the American people are pissed off about...Trump.

Not in the pocket of politicians...Trump.

Positive attitude...Trump.

Could he have flaws...Of course.

Does he know how to govern...Maybe, but I'm sure he would find the right people to help him that are good for the country.

‘”[Jeb] plans to best Trump for the GOP’s presidential nomination by exposing the business mogul as a false conservative”’

He’s got plenty of compatriots in the ranks of the Trump-haters, assisting in that effort.

I read that it costs each taxpayer $700,000 for one illegal in this country. I wish Trump would bring out this fact in his speeches. Maybe someone could tweet the link to him? I don’t do twitter.

The default position of virtually every presidential candidate for decades has been to express concern about how other nations perceive the United States. Trump has flipped that 180 degrees and is putting other nations on notice that they ought to be concerned about how the United States perceives them. That in itself is refreshing.

“Washington is not working”? Wrong, Jebbie. It’s working great. They’re shredding our Constitution at a frantic pace. They’re selling out our Country to alien foreigners and nations like there’s no tomorrow.

They’re bankrupting our Nation with zeal, and malice aforethought! And you, and your ilk are striving to turn our Land into North Mexico. That is why we are this very minute entering a pact with Mr. Trump, to stop your mischief, throw out the malicious traitors and incompetent posers, and Make America Great Again!

Wow, now there is a unique idea...let the people hear and see what a candidate actually believes in...no wonder Jeb is confused.
