CNN Is Screwing Over Carly Fiorina
PJ Media ^ | 08-28-2015 | Michael van der Galien

[MUST WATCH VIDEO]

Businesswoman turned politician Carly Fiorina is angry with CNN. The reason? The network is likely to leave her out of its prime time debate because she’s supposedly not polling in the top 10.

The only problem with that? She clearly is.

As Howie Kurtz explained on Fox News, CNN, however, is using older polls — from before the first Fox News debate — to assemble its “top 10″ of candidates. It’s clear that this is extremely bad for Fiorina, since she barely had name recognition before that debate. After it, however, she quickly surged in the polls and suddenly become a top contender.

You’d think that CNN would understand that debates actually matter and that a few weeks (let alone a few months) are an eternity in politics, but they’re having none of it. From the looks of it, the cable channel will not change its selection process. This means that Fiorina will once again have to participate in the kids’ table debate, missing out on the big audience that the top 10 debate is sure to draw since they’re up in prime time.

Of course, CNN could change their system in the blink of an eye, but they’ll likely refuse to do so because they don’t want to “give in” to the demands of one of the candidates — says Kurtz. Well, of course they wouldn’t. To the networks, this entire primary process is — of course — not about the actual candidates, but about themselves. It’s about their ratings, their influence, their power and their reputation. Republican voters can lose, as long as the networks win.

I believe all the candidates agreed to the use of all legitimate (not online) polls as the means to determine ranking. Carly was just that low leading into the first debate and there has not been enough new polls with a high enough percentage in her favor to make up for it.

It's not CNN who made up these rules and CNN can't change this approach, save for having more candidates packed into the “big players” stage.

Not a Carly supporter given some of her more liberal positions, but I’d like to see her up there, if just for the reason she’s not afraid to go after Mr. Mullet, and looks good doing so.

Figures do not lie, but liars figure. The only reason CNN would insist on using an out-of-date poll is because there is someone on that older poll that they want to keep in the running.

They don’t want anyone to see a woman to use as a comparison with Hillary. I’m not for Fiorina, but she’d make Hillary look dreadful — strong, smart, competent, well spoken, honest (probably), etc.

the problem is the RNC. They chose CNN and they(RNC) can make the rules

The RNC made these rules and CNN can’t change them. The candidates agreed to these rules before the debates began. Now she want’s to change the rules and move the goalposts? If this was a dem, everyone would be yelling about NOT changing the rules in the middle of the game.

I like Carly but this giving her a bad image.

good lord they will lose their narrative. We have a black man a Hispanic and if there was a woman up there that would be the trifecta and CNN can’t have that.

well we have two Hispanics if you count jeb.

CNN couldn’t care less if Carly is or isn’t there. As long as Donald is there, there’s ratings.

I would like for Carly to be on the big stage too. However, as I understand it, the rules were made back in May. So, hard to see how CNN is rigging the system. Not a fan of CNN, just saying :)

Most unethical business model this side of the Mafia.

I guess that CNN is doing so poorly maybe because they are unaware of how volatile politics can be, with rising stars and unexpected drop outs occurring almost daily.

Hard to believe that in this day and age, that CNN is unable to adopt to expected rapid change because they made their inflexible "rules" in the recent past.

More power to them!

Fiorina camp goes to war with the RNC

The Republican businesswoman is crying foul over possibly being left off the next main debate stage. The RNC’s response — tough luck.

Of course they want to leave her out. They don’t want the Republicans to have a viable woman candidate. She’s not only competition for Hillary, but she’s been outspoken about Hillary and willing to take her on.

What is unethical about the ink cartridge business?

Please elaborate.....if you can.

You simply do not like her and want to bludgeon her with that. Admit it.

She’s probably fine. I don’t know her at all.

The HP empire was built on cheap printers and ink priced like gold.

Jerks.
