Two years ago, Trump met with immigration activists who told them their stories and asked for his support on immigration. "You convinced me" Trump said as the meeting ended.

On an August day two years ago, Donald Trump was in a much different place: He was just a billionaire with the simple goal of connecting his beauty pageant business with the upcoming Hispanic Heritage Awards.
So at his New York penthouse office atop Trump Tower, he convened a meeting.
Trump ushered in a pair of men - one to talk about the awards and a Democratic strategist who works with nonprofits - and three young DREAMer activists. ...
But he also kept asking, "Can't you just become a citizen if you want to?" No, we can't the activists said, there's no process for that. Trump was reflective, the activists sad.
"You know, the truth is I have a lot of illegals working for me in Miami," he told them, using the term for undocumented immigrants those in the meeting found offensive.

"At the end of the day, what we're looking at is a value proposition for America," Tijerino said to Trump at the end of the meeting, referring to immigration legislation.
"You've convinced me," Trump said to the delight of the activists in the room.
"We all smiled at each other and said, 'Wow, we did it, we got this guy to change his mind," Pacheco said. Two years later they see a showman just playing to the crowd.

Trump/TMS (Trump Mania Syndrome) supporters will just put their fingers in their ears and say “I’m not listening,” while they continue to make excuses for him. Whaaaat? “You’ve convinced me,” does not necessarily mean, “Now I’m on your side.” The arguements of the border crashers may have been the first realization Trump had as to what a greedy, presumptuous, demanding bunch those border crashers are; just like Jorge, their poster boy.
So Trump merely had to say, “You’ve convinced me,” and walk away. At that time, with all the irons he had in the fire, and no real POTUS aspirations, that’s as far as it went.
But when he DID decide, and DID announce for POTUS, what was his opening salvo? ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! What was the subject of his FIRST position paper? ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! What was the theme of his FIRST big rally, in Phoenix, with the bereaved loved ones of Americans murdered by alien criminals? ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! What subject has he continued to hammer for the past 2 months? ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! I rest my case.
I believe I have TONS more evidence for this point of view than the TDS bedwetters do for theirs.
Nice story, good for Mr. Winn. This story or event has absolutely no bearing on post #39 or my post #25, they were and are accurate. Questions have been raised and should have been raised about Trumps veracity and whether or not he has an agenda or philosophy or if he just says what he thinks he needs to say at the time to get what he wants and this story or the account oh his ushering people out of his office and telling them what they want to hear does nothing to change that. The ushering out of the office part only reinforces it.
What IS WRITTEN about what he says doesn’t matter.
What he does matters.

I have nothing to lose by going with Trump.

America is not going to intern any ethnic groups on our soil.
Who says so? By law, before a person can be deported, they get a hearing, that is, if you believe in the rule of law and that wrongly detained citizens should not be deported. That means the government MUST hold them while the hearings progress.
That takes a holding facility, Trump chump, your ignorant desires and Trump's bogus pronouncements notwithstanding. This isn't as simple as wishful "thinking" would have it be.
Just because a task is overwhelming does not mean it must not and should not be attempted.
If said attempt lasts only about a week, what good was it? On the other hand, the Constitutional way to do this would be to issue a Congressional Letter of Marque, the powers of which include the latitude for the national Second Amendment militia to pursue justice even across international borders where Americans could set up camps on Mexican soil if need be. But the Dupes for Donald can't be bothered with details like that, a bogus handwave from a documented employer of gobs of illegals (maids, construction workers, groundskeepers, busboys etc in the Donald's hotel, golf course, and entertainment businesses) is good enough for them.
