Can We Trust Trump? (Vanity)
August 27, 2015 | Myself

Posted on 08/27/2015 7:39:54 PM PDT by Crucial

I just have to wonder if Trump can be trusted on any number of fronts. Most importantly can he be trusted to pick one or two Supreme Court justices. Of course, Hillary can't be trusted whatsoever. Trump would be preferable to any Democrat. And I think Walker and Cruz and Carson are men with good intentions but that may be a moot point. I'm just worried that Trump might just go his own way and what anyone else thinks becomes inconsequential due to his dominant personality. The condition of this country is not good and I have no idea what kind of president Trump will be.

Your taste, not mine. I like the over the collar look and it is quite utilitarian for those who spend a lot of time out of doors or in changing temperatures.

Okie.. it was a light-hearted reply to “spokeshave”. Personally I don’t vote based on length or style of hair.

Can he be trusted as compared to what/who?

Right now I trust him as much as any other person in the race except Cruz.

I certainly trust him more than those who ask stupid questions and who probably don't invest a dime of themselves in their "principles" by donating to a candidate or to FR.

The presidential election next yr is tricky and a hard one to forecast at this stage.

If Jeb, for example, is selected as the Republican nominee, I don’t think he would ultimately win vis a vis someone like Hillary, by voters (that’s my ‘feel’).

The person nominated for the Republican party will obviously have to have a much broader appeal & support-base for voters to vote for him. This person can’t be viewed/perceived to have ‘strictly conservative values’, by the average voter.

I think Trump is doing good so far being ‘a catalyst’ for a range of issues most probably paramount on voters’ mind (Dems or Republicans).

Still a long way to go...

Cruz isn’t really a weak campaigner, it’s just that wherever Trump shows up, the media flock there for the story. Cruz is doing well, really, but the media is not following him around. He was here in GA recently and we wanted to go see him, but it was a 3 hour drive one way and the event started @ 8PM. I worked that next morning, meaning I needed to be in bed no later than 10-10:30 to get up at 0330 to go to work. As an RN I cannot afford to feel tired. That is when mistakes are made. I sure wish the venue had been a lot closer, but maybe he’ll be back again. From what I heard all the GA venues were sold out. I know that most of his are sold out. He is playing a different type of ground game than Trump. I’d much rather listen to Cruz, but right now Trump is getting the media coverage. That doesn’t bother me yet. I think Cruz knows what he is doing.

well sir , I try and watch , closely , his every appearance , presser , interview , etc , and have almost gotten familiar with all that he says , by heart . I see some weaknesses , some places he clearly needs good advisers to advise him , especially in Mil matters and and I hope he sees that and is open to it as well . But thru it all , I do not see the arrogance that some people describe and the Libs harp on ( nasty f-ing Libs will try and character assassinate anyone )but I see a kind of fiery innocence of intent , an unstained and uncynical demeanor , undainted by the long and well practiced lies and deceit of typical politicians. As a local tea party group founder , I have watched all politicians , both local and national closely , like a hwak , for years . As a Republican voter I have been particularly disappointed with the emasculated performances and positions of the great majority of those R leadership whom we have handed some power to , over & over . Frankly , I am ready to string several of them up ! Dems on the other hand are beneath contempt . I expect nothing of them and am neve disappointed . Trump however brings a totally different parameter to the table . Unlike Obama , who was equally inexperienced and who had almost no personal accomplishments prior to being errantly elected President , Trump has a huge portfolio of accomplishments . That he has not always been a paragon of Conservative values does not bother me a bit . I myself was a mindless Dem voter ( except I loved and voted for Reagan ) most of my life . Until 9/11/01 .... I give Trump , given the right associations around him , the credit to be able to make great changes in himself , with his enormous self confidence and drive , and adapt to the higher calling of office he now seeks . I expect an illustrious Presidency of him . I can see it very clearly . I see opposition , both at home and abroad , quailing in the boots , shoes and slippers . I believe that the mullahs in Iran will piss themselves if we elect him , as well they should . Finally I am sick and tired of Republicans putting forward ‘kinder - gentler’ Harvey Milktoast types , for us to choose from . America needs a door kickers and not another deceitful politician or pansy ass commie liar or islamo-nazi apologists . I believe that Mr. Trump is ( or could be ) that man . I hope for a Trump-Cruz ticket , strongly supported by our active duty Mil folks , who are once again going to have their chance to have their say about what joker is to be known as their commander and chief . If it’s Clinton , I hope THEY show her the door , the day after the election takes place . Millions would support them . So short of that outcome , I would strongly suggest that ALL get off their butts and vote for Trump . Let’s stand up America! Let’s jointly kick some ass ....

One thing to remember about SCROTUM justices and nominees - they lie. They are no different than any other politician. They lie to get the seat and as justices, lie with their ridiculous rulings. So no matter who is President, no matter the nominee, their are no guarantees that the “justice” will enforce the Constitution.

Indeed, he’s as trustworthy as any of them with the possible exception of Cruz and he(Cruz) just doesn’t seem to have the horsepower this time around. He’ll be around for a long time though and will only get better.

“Explain to us how we get Cruz nominated when we haven’t been able to get one single Conservative past the Democrats and Moderate Republicans who vote with us in our primaries?”

True, but I can’t remember a real conservative even trying since Reagan.

but the idea we can is simply delusional.

I sure hope this continues ... Ted Cruz will make a fine executive indeed ... and the U.S. Constitution will be much safer with his leadership. Be well.

Dead horse beating alert!

Of course we can't trust him, but I love what he's done to the race, especially how he's taking out Jeb (a wonderful thing), and how he's highlighted so many things the GOPe has gotten wrong for so long.

This may come back and bite us all in the butt later, but for now, just destroying the GOPe's numero uno candito (the Jebster) is good enough for me.

Not a totally dead horse. There are many many Freepers insisting we can trust him to just be our dictator and make every decision....

So it’s a stupid question to ask if we can trust the future leader of our country?

So it’s a stupid question to ask if we can trust the future leader of our country?

Any wide-open-ended question begs for one's agenda or actual concerns.

So, who and what do you invest yourself in while looking over the driver's shoulder and telling him to watch out for the as yet unseen road hazard? Lots of uninvested pundits out there telling us to beware w/o actually having a solid reason - some manufacture/cherry-pick/deliberately misquote/misinterpret and others point to the Ocean and wonder if there's a monster storm out there. Most ignore the storm if we don't keep another Dim out of the WH - they seldom bump their theories against known realities.

I donate to Cruz monthly and to FR once or twice per fundraiser these days.

The FR fundraisers have links all over the place - here's a URL for Cruz:
