One of the reasons why the Ashley Madison hack has swept through the US' imagination to such a profound degree is how all-encompassing it seemed. The hack clawed its way into communities all across the country well, not quite every community.
Gawkers Gabrielle Bluestone has uncovered that there are precisely three ZIP codes across the country that have no record of Ashley Madison users. Thats ZIP codes, not area codes. And what do they have in common? They're partially lacking two things: the internet and a large number of people.

If true, I’m surprised that everywhere else had accounts. Not that I am looking for an affair (or at least I won’t admit to it), but I had never heard of Ashley Madison until they were hacked. That they touched all but three zip codes says something rather bad about the state of our ethics and morality in the US. Not good.
I guess people are still telling pollster what they want to hear rather than what they believe.
I never heard of this site until the story broke. I might have seen the ads, but thought it was for lingerie or a movie. This is one case where for me, I can say “ignorance is bliss.”
Small populations, limited internet access and they probably just cheat the old fashioned way. With co-workers, neighbors, on “business trips” or using other dating sites. ;-`) Plenty of ways without having to pay a website.
Ashley Madison: an escort service, pretending to be a dating site.

Names will eventually leak. I just saw that my home town made the Top 100 in my state for most accounts. Woo Hoo!
Remember the point is for 2 people to meet and have sex, at some point you have to throw away anonymity. Kind of have to use your real zip, otherwise you’ll get setup with people in your fake zip.
It’s also a powerful weapon for keeping private information out of the hands of an increasingly intrusive and inquisitive government.
(Singing)
It takes two, baby
It takes two, baby,
Me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two, baby
It takes two, baby
Make a dream come true
It just takes two
OK, let's all sign up and go for that number one spot!!!
None of the three is in Amish country. Two are in Alaska and one is in New Mexico.
At leasat one of the zip codes is a town of 94 people. If something were going on, everyone in town would know.
Me thinks, anyone who believes they will find a sexual partner online except for prostitution is a loon, living in a fantasy world, or has a death wish. That is just my opinion of course. Nothing better than a good wife. That is a man's, or I suppose a woman's, real live fantasy world. Hang on to it. But then again I guess I'm just one of those old fashioned American males. (With a great wife :-)
I’m thinking those three zip codes have superior cheating schemes in-place, so they do not need Ashley Madison!
There’s nothing loony about it. It’s basically a pickup bar online. People (single and not) have been going to bars to miss/mister Tonight for a long long time. This is just the same form evolving for a newer world. Not everybody can find their happiness with a good wife, either because they can’t find a good wife, or they aren’t a good husband. And some people have a need to screw up a good thing.
Rumors are circulating that when the final results are tabulated Pittsburgh is going to be at or very near the top.
What is my reaction to that? Shocked. Horrified. Embarrassed. Makes me want to start buying hand sanitizer on a more regular basis. Has me keeping an eye peeled for pillars of salt on my drive to work.
Joe Biden’s son was on the list, but he claims it had to have been a fake account.
Very little coverage on this.
