Trump says it’s time to move on from gay ‘marriage’ battle: ‘The Supreme Court ruled.’

LOS ANGELES, CA, August 25, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – The GOP's leading presidential candidate said that he has been to a gay "wedding" and that conservatives should accept the Supreme Court's redefinition of marriage.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Donald Trump was asked whether the issue of marriage's redefinition is "a dead issue for the GOP at this point."

"Some people have hopes of passing amendments [to the U.S. Constitution]," said Trump, "but it's not going to happen. Congress can't pass simple things, let alone that. So anybody that's making that an issue is doing it for political reasons. The Supreme Court ruled on it."

In June, Trump told CNN's Jake Tapper that he had evolved on the issue of marriage, and supports "traditional marriage." At the time, he was pressed by Tapper on whether Trump's three marriages undermined his position.

"They have a very good point," said Trump. "I have a great marriage. I have a great wife now. And I – my two wives were very good. And I don't blame them. But I was working, maybe like you, 22 hours a day."

"I blame myself because my business was so powerful for me. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing," he said.

Trump told the Reporter that he had been to the gay "wedding" of Broadway theater owner Jordan Roth.

Nobody’s following you to your candidate’s threads looking to start shxt with you either. It’s the other way around. It’s an unmanly and immature loser reaction to avoid reality and responsibility by blaming other people. People are choosing Trump. Get over it.

Actually, I would not conduct a homosexual wedding. If I attended a homosexual wedding, it would only be to observe it as a fact collector. I’d do the same with a Buddhist wedding. In other words, it would not be as a participant or celebrant or supporter.

In fact, I just had to write a change to our church policy yesterday to protect us from those who might consider suing due to our local church position NOT to support these things or anything transgender.

Trump’s conversion to pro-life goes back to 2011. I don’t know when his conversion to traditional marriage began, and I don’t know his change on so-called ‘assault weapons’.

He has explained the tax on wealth idea — which was at least a decade ago and the national debt much smaller. He felt at that time, the national debt could be paid off by a bunch of rich people in just a few years, so it was quite a while ago.

Do you agree that a 60 year old should be held to the beliefs he expressed at 21 years old?

How am I supposed to trust someone whose conservative views started just a few years ago, and with ZERO track record?

Your choices is to (1) trust a GOP that has consistently lied, misrepresented, and betrayed, AND said they are true conservatives, or (2) gamble on a man with the resources to beat both the GOP-E and the democrats, who says he's a conservative convert, and who appears to be forming a coalition with your favorite candidate, Ted Cruz, who does NOT have the firepower to overcome the GOP-E/media coalition.

I'm taking the gamble.

I do not, nor ever will support or attend any announcement, ceremony or endorsement given over to homosexual marriage or relatedly perverted event.

If you think the many Trump flip-flops have occured over years and decades, then you aren't paying attention. Trump flip flops in a matter of hours. Take his recent Planned parenthood decision and reversal for example.....

Why Trump's flip-flop on Planned Parenthood is so important
American Thinker ^ | 8/11/15 | Newsmachete

Posted on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 3:59:55 AM by markomalley

Donald Trump, who last week wanted to defund Planned Parenthood, now isn't so sure.

After saying last week it's worth having Congress shut down the federal government unless Planned Parenthood is stripped of its $528 million in government funding, the Republican presidential candidate changed his tune.

Speaking on CNN's "New Day" Tuesday morning, Trump said that before defunding Planned Parenthood entirely, he would look at the positive aspects of the organization.

"I would look at the good aspects of it, and I would also look because I'm sure they do some things properly and good for women. I would look at that, and I would look at other aspects also, but we have to take care of women," he said. "The abortion aspect of Planned Parenthood should absolutely not be funded."

I have a question. What if the Islamic State had good health clinics for women, where women could get breast exams, pap smears, and their hair and nails done for free? And what if we could donate to these ISIS clinics and be 100% sure that our money would not go to mass executions or genocide, which is also a hallmark of ISIS? Would it be proper to give money to their women's clinics?

(Excerpt) Read more at americanthinker.com ...

So understand this. Trump will say and do ANYTHING and change his stance at ANYTIME. This is one thing he is consistent at. And that is his flip floppery.

I don’t ignore it but I do sometimes question what good it does to elect candidates that talk right and do nothing. Take abortion for an example, for 40 years there has been a litmus test for conservatives to be staunchly anti abortion. What good has that done us? We have one of the most barbaric abortion regimes in the world. There are many hard left, godless countries in Europe that have more humane abortion laws than we do. Our “conservatives” have been talking a good game and raising money to stop abortion for over 40 years now and have done almost nothing. Even Reagan did basically nothing but talk about it. I am tired of “conservative” candidates that talk right and do nothing. Maybe one that actually tells me he does not think he can do anything about it won’t disappoint me when he keeps his word.

It’s gonna drive you crazy, but I think Trump is playing ‘brer rabbit’ with his Planned Parenthood comments.

If you could force Planned Parenthood to end all abortions, would you? You would then have other parts of the old PP. Would you rename it?

If you forced GE to stop selling home appliances, would you have anything left?

You all are worried about gay marriage and abortion, you must not realize that our country is gone already. We have open borders and unlimited freebies for aliens. That is the number one thing to deal with. If we don’t solve that, nothing else matters!

The only way to overrule the courts now is by constitutional amendment

And given folks so inclined to do so rejected that notion openly back when it had a chance it’s doubtful now

The real battle is religious freedom in private and business life

The left realizes homo agenda works for them and ever lib youth simply don’t care

Trump is no social conservative but his supporters will only tolerate so much of this

He and his bro Cohen had better get advice on keeping his newfound base happy

but .....but....but.....he’s a great conservative...he’s the new Reagan.......he, he, he....he’s wonderful, he’s amazing, he’s god,.....but but but.......

Trump could burn down the Capitol Building and his supporters would be cheering about how we finally found someone who could get a fire started and wasn't it the biggest, most beautiful, most fabulous fire that history has ever seen?

Trump NOT discussing it, whatever he says, is a sign of prudence.

If he's to do anything about it it will be to bring it up AFTER he is elected.

I agree. I am coming to the opinion that this gamble is the only choice we have other than outright surrender.

That and pray really hard and trust in the Lord’s promises of salvation, since Jesus is the one who wins in the end.

So, you can go with the devil you know, that GOP devil, OR you can go with someone who might be a convert and not a devil at all, and who is forming a coalition with Ted Cruz, a guy you know is not a devil.

How could you possibly pick the GOP, the devil you know? They have betrayed and backstabbed you so much that I can see the knives sticking out your back even over the internet.
