Ted Cruz TRUMPS Megyn Kelly on unfair question, says ‘I’m not playing the media’s game’
The Right Scoop ^ | 8/25/15 | staff

Posted on 08/25/2015 7:14:01 PM PDT by VinL

Ted Cruz was asked tonight the same question BillO asked Trump last night, if he would deport two illegal parents who have children that are American Citizens. But Cruz refused to answer it the way Megyn Kelly wanted him to. She accused him of dodging the question, but Cruz responded that the question that she and other mainstream media journalists want to ask is a distraction from actually fixing the problem of illegal immigration and then explained how to fix it.

It was awesome.

Cruz dodged the question. What is great about that?

Two lawyers debating.

Not what I anticipated.

Megyn was butt rude.

I’m very happy I watched CNN!

I can’t believe that Sen. Cruz could not find the legal failure of the 14th Amendment to support Anchor Babies? The answer is so simple: An illegal alien is NOT subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.

The ancient and unjust feudal common law doctrine of birth citizenship or “Jus Soli” has a checkered past and is rightly on the ash heap of history. Jus Soli is accepted almost nowhere in the “modern” Western world due to the primitive and inhumane roots of the concept in medieval Europe.

The Democrat Party wants the inhumane doctrine of Jus Soli to make everyone born in the United States subject to their socialist state of infinite taxation and government control from cradle to grave.

Cruz is a weak man.

Calling the most principled fighting conservative in Washington weak? Do you embarrass yourself routinely?

The elites got their drawers in a wad when Cruz told them how worthless they were. They started the mantra that Cruz is unelectable because of that. Stop repeating garbage.

Reject the premise of automatic birthright citizenship outright...It is the premise and the assumption birthright citizenship is legit that undelies Kelly’s question...But BC is far from legit and highly to be questioned despite years of seeming precendent...

The fact a crime has been long condoned, has become accepted practice or goes unprosecuted is irrelevant...It’s still a crime...

Nobody should ever be allowed to profit from the crime of another, or to automatically gain (in effect, steal) US citizenship, especially without consent of the American people...

Children are separated from lawbreaking parents all the time...This is nothing new or unknown...If Dick and Jane rob a bank and then go to prison, their children will be separated from them and the family will be broken...The children will then suffer the loss of their parents...Because of the illegal actions of those parents...

If I find the bank’s door open and unguarded late one night, should I expect to walk in and help myself without fear of prosecution? And if I then go to prison, what happens to my kids?

If birthright citizenship IS ever found to be legitimate (it’s not), the kids could be allowed the choice to stay in the US when they are deported, or go with their parents and return later as adults...

Either way, Ted was smart to reject the faulty underlying premise of her “gotcha” question, and use the opportunity to lay it out...

Go, Ted...Go!

I read your first comment- I determined the rest are not worth reading. You’re for Trump, and so against Cruz— no need to read your further inanities.

Kelly isn’t running for anything, Cruz is. To most viewers, she asked a direct question and he dodged it. That kind of response translates as “just a typical politician” to people who don’t hang out on conservative message boards, but who might have watched this interview.

“If Cruz is elected it will be Bush43’s 2007 push for 100% Amnesty revisited. “

Odd. That is NOTHING like what Cruz said. You are slandering him. Why?

Like when he stood alone on the Senate floor to try to defund Obamacare, or stood alone and called out the Mitch for prevarication, or hosting a conference call with 100,000 pastors today to defund Planned Parenthood.

Perhaps you have a different definition of “standing up” and acting like a man-?

Yes, he did stand up in that situation, and I loved it. However, he was clearly “safe” to do so in that there was no way they were going to vote to defund (because the Senate is weak and spineless) and he could look like the hero proving his bona fides. However, when he had a chance on a one-on-one interview on national TV with millions of viwers to answer strongly, affirmatively and unequivocally, he failed to do so by giving a non-answer, answer. He is a politician. A good one, a strong Christian one, but a politician, nonetheless.

Well that’s great that Trump said that, but guess what, it’s not happening?

All of you in here are acting like these illegals aren’t going lawyer up the anchor-babies from the ACLU and drag every deportation case to Court.

ACLU will argue on the false interpretation of the 14th Amendment. And given how liberal the Courts are, how do you think the Courts are going to rule? All the way to the SCOTUS and Anthony Kennedy? If it goes via the Courts these anchor-baby children will be deemed Citizens. That’s the lawlessness of the runaway courts. I don’t like it, but that’s the reality of the situation.

Ted Cruz knows that too. Which is why the only way this is going to get solved is for Congress to either clarify Birthright Citizen once and for all via their authority in Art 1 Sec 8 (and that will have to go through the Courts most likely), or pass a Constitutional Amendment fully defining Citizenship (the only real way to bypass the Courts). And even when they do one of those 2 things, it’s going to only be effective on a date on or after passage because if they try to retro-it, the Courts will stop that too.

It’s like everybody forgot the liberal Courts in this equation, except for Cruz.

He also said he was open to ending ‘birthright citizenship’

Open to it? LOL Is he serious?

With over 40M anti-American illegals invading every corner of the lower 48 all he can say is that he is open to it.

For Heaven's sake our Republic is about to be destroyed because of this illegal invasion and he can't say with certainty that he backs ending birthright citizenship -- do you see how pathetic is his answer???

We need bold solutions not nuanced responses.

Please realize that Cruz is a very, very weak man that does not have the strength of will to do, in the end, the right thing.

In this past week Cruz has shown himself to be a phoney Conservative.

Cruz knows either process is long and grueling.

Any thinking person does. One step at a time.

I was being sarcastic to the Trump Derangement Syndrome crowd on FR that seems to think contradicting the Goddess Megyn is tantamount to high treason, but only if the Donald does it.

With what I have read and heard from him these past 10 days it is a conclusion I have drawn.

I truly feel he will try to have it both ways. He will appear to act tough on security, but in the end, give in to the elites.

The parents will be deported and presumably bring their kids with them.

**********8

what if they don’t bring the kids with them- The kids are Americans, what then? Wards of the state?

And my question remains, what percent of the electorate do you think will agree with you- just curious?

Cruz ducked and dodged and never answered it at all. We need Trump to do the initial heavy lifting.

Cruz didn't want to contradict himself, while Trump contradicts himself a lot.

“Most scholars think”

Well, no. You have to throw in MANY years of Congressional actions, along with Levin, McCarty, and many others. The scholars who believe in birth right citizenship are lefties. Or, you can back off and think a little and ask yourself if the people who wrote the law, and the citizens of the country at that time, were that amazingly stupid as to make it legal for someone to ILLEGALLY walk across the border, pop a baby out, and the baby is magically an American.
