Social media is having field day at Donald Trumps expense after a BuzzFeed News reporter posted a photo of clothing from the business moguls signature collection.

I admire Trump. Putting Tariffs on China and Mexico would hurt at least a couple of his own lines of business. But it would be in America’s best interest, so he advocates for it.

That something manufactured in Mexico has something to do do with illegal illiterate Mexicans coming here?
What next - Donald Trump ate a taco once upon a time?
no they don’t
this is petty BS of the highest order
As if "not endorse the clothing line" were not an option.
“That something manufactured in Mexico has something to do do with illegal illiterate Mexicans coming here?”
You get it!
First of all this is the most liberal paper in Florida. Second of all this is what you got??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
..and his signature ties were made in China....
The textile industry has been dead in this country for decades due to so called “fair trade.” Go to your closet and check where your clothes were made. Not here.
He already stated his tie collection was made in China. He isn’t advocating not having products made in foreign countries -he’s talking about how they undercut our American made products. It’s hard to find American made products anywhere. A couple of years ago - I bought a new refrigerator - the only one which is still manufactured in the U.S. - Frigidaire. He even talked about having to buy tv sets from S. Korea or Japan - they aren’t made here in American any more. This “gotcha” proves nothing.
American made clothing costs 10x as much. I understand that. So why doesn't he just say that?
At the same time, he should advocate eliminating corporate taxes (which CUSTOMERS actually pay) which would make America more competitive in manufacturing.
The date of the article is July 2. You’re a bit slow with the news, bubba.
Some reporter had an orgasm posting this, no doubt.
It’s a great argument for liberals on Free Republic. Liberals are having a field day !!
Lindsey Graham will use this one for sure.
“they have a valid point.”
Naaaa. Most of the parts on my truck are made in Mexico,
does that make you a wetback? No point at all.
Trump has spoken on two separate issues regarding Mexico: immigration and trade. While manufacturing things in Mexico has nothing to do with immigration, it very much goes to the heart of what he has been saying about trade. Remember when he said that, as President, he would get on the phone with the head of Ford and stop Ford from opening a plant in Mexico? Sort of rings hollow when Trump himself is operating (or contracting with) plants in Mexico to produce his clothing.
Trump also employs Mexicans !!! Gasp !!
Agreed.
This is silly and grasping for straws.
I have a clothing business, so I know all about it.
American manufactured clothing costs 4-10X more.
The thing is, how does he justify his criticism of Ford and Nabisco for moving their operations to Mexico for the same reason that he buys from Mexico?
He could instead talk about eliminating corporate taxes to make us more competitive in the world market.
Or he could talk about regulations that make us less competitive.
Instead, he talks about tariffs, and restricting free trade, which makes everyone poorer.
