Well I think that he's sort of a guy that has just a wonderful personality, a good speaker, somebody that people trust."

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump praised president Obama in 2009 in his book Think Like A Champion and on CNN's Larry King Live.

Trump...wrote of Obama in his book, "What he has done is amazing." ...

Trump also wrote he thought Obama "has the mark of a strong leader" and said Obama's comments on the economy "have led me to believe that he understands how the economy works on a comprehensive level." ...

He has also surrounded himself with very competent people...

For someone like myself that has been in or around any number of “Salesman” for 20 plus years, I am continually amazed that this style actually works.

Do you want to tell me that Dick Cheney is a Rino?

You mean Dick "deficits don't matter" Cheney?

You may not like the RINO label, but it seems to me that the only way the likes of McCain, Romney, and the Bushes could be acceptable to any conservative as nominees is when political party affiliation trumps policy and ideology (I did hold my nose and vote for Romney in 2012, but I had no illusions about him. His Presidency would have been "better" than Obama's in the same sense that a Hepatitis C patient is marginally better off than an AIDS patient).

We could ask the same question from some other candidates who supported and voted for TPP/TPA, can’t we?

I am pretty sure I have read all of Trump’s policies objectives, all were very conservative.

So which policy objective has Trump given that is one that could be called a policy of a democrat?

Still gave to the Democrats. Still says he’s got Democrat leanings.

If someone gives a flamethrower to a person to go into a nursery and burn up all inside and then later gives two fire trucks to some firefighters.

They still are responsible for the initial destruction.

Reagan was a democrat once, too. Turned out pretty good if I recall correctly.

yeah, Reagan was a conservative spokesman, statesman, speaker, and governor for several decades before running for President. Trump has been conservative on a few issues for several weeks. Right. Great analogy. Didn't do so well in logic, did you?

“Still gave to the Democrats.”

Can you discern any difference between the Republican Congress and Democrats? There is nothing sacred about Republicans. As you have noticed, most Republicans run as conservatives and vote as democrats.

I have seen the breakdown of what he contributed, and he gave more to Republicans. He gave to Democrats, as he has explained, as a businessman, because they were the ones he had to do business with.

And to add to your point, Reagan left liberalism quite a while before he left the Dem party officially. He was out giving speeches about the evils of socialized medicine in 1960-61 if not sooner.

Republicans 0 voted for Obama care, multiple votes to take Obamacare out.

Trump - praised/praises Obamacare. Donated to the campaigns of the Democrats who helped put it in place.

Also yes, there are differences between Republicans and Democrats in voting. Saying otherwise is pretty much fear mongering.

I know, there’s disappointments but look at you.

Saying cash to the Democrats is somehow justified.

Been a little longer than a few weeks. Apparently, you've read none of his books. I have, going way back. While he has some liberal leanings, Trump's views, for the most part, trend to the right. You'd know that if you had any interest whatsoever in actually making informed decisions. Apparently, you'd rather spend your time licking the GOPe RINO jackboots.

I guess you've never heard of rhetoric or exaggeration for effect. You totally missed the point with your inch depth analysis. I was using absurdity to demonstrate absurdity....yes, it's been longer than a few weeks - on some issues - but it's not anything like the Reagan analogy - which is absurdity personified. And you win the all time ignorance award -shared with many Freepers - calling me a RINO GOP e hack. So, here's your sign - proof you just stepped into a steaming pile.Your anti gop e cred is non existent.

you know, it takes a special kind of idiot, perhaps someone who is clinically retarded, to see my work and accuse me of being a GOP e jack boot. You can legitimately make many complaints about me, but that one is just to stupid, so demonstrably wrong, so embarrassingly shallow, that it takes a sub 65 IQ to entertain it once, and a sub 50 to entertain it twice, which you have. But here's more, congratulating Trump on slamming the estabs FOUR YEARS AGO - ie - WAY WAY WAY ahead of anything you said or did. Please note how far ahead of the curve I was. I am used to it, you obviously are not

Here's the thing:

1. The defensive position in politics is ALWAYS the loser's side. Interestingly enough, it's also the side the GOPe is ALWAYS on. The left accuses the GOPe of something, and the GOPe screams bloody murder how wrong the left is. Offense is something the GOPe HAS NO CLUE about. You insist you are "Conservative" and "anti-GOPe", yet you use their very tactics and are highly proficient in defense (losing).

2. I'm a Cruz fan. I would much rather see Cruz get in than Trump, BUT, the facts are that Cruz is so far behind right now that it's not going to be easy to recover. Sure, we have months to go and Cruz could pull it out, but at this point, it would be far better to get Cruz, a REAL CONSERVATIVE, behind Trump who you correctly question Conservative bona fides from.

The fact that you are COMPLETELY BLIND to the upsides of getting a Trump/Cruz ticket for 2016 tells me you aren't necessarily gunning for the long game, which lends more suspicion to your claims of being "anti-establishment". Face it: The GOP is dead. 2010 and 2014 have told us that IT DOES NO GOOD to vote for Republicans. None at all. Those elections coming off 8 years of Bush screwing the right, too. Trump is OBLITERATING the establishment. If you were truly anti-establishment, you'd get behind that, solidly. You'd rather see the GOP pushed EVEN FURTHER to the left, which is the only thing we've managed to accomplish over these last couple of decades, since we insist on voting "lesser evil". Those days are over.

We either destroy the GOP with Trump to save it with Cruz, or we see this as the last election before we have no choice but to turn away from the ballot box and turn to other means to secure our posterity. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way, because us TRUE AMERICANS are done playing games.

Lol. Oh man. Is that really a good political barometer? He can get things done. What if the stuff he gets done sets our liberty back? He gets things done.

If Trump can put a serious dent in illegal immigration that will be more than the GOP has done for this country in the last 30 years.
