Hillary Clinton Campaign Says Classified Emails Were on Server
The Wall Street Journal ^ | By Byron Tau and Robert McMillan

WASHINGTON— Hillary Clinton’s campaign said Wednesday that emails on the private server she used when she was secretary of state contained material that is now classified, the clearest explanation thus far of an issue that has roiled her bid for the presidency.

At the same time, the campaign sought to play down the disclosure by saying the material had been retroactively classified out of an abundance of caution by U.S. intelligence agencies.

“She was at worst a passive recipient of unwitting information that subsequently became deemed as classified,” said Brian Fallon, a spokesman for Mrs. Clinton’s campaign.

Mrs. Clinton has been criticized for using a private email server when she was in office. Since 2013, the server was maintained by a small Denver company and stored at a secure data center in New Jersey until it was turned over to the FBI last week. Her use of the server has prompted an FBI counterintelligence investigation.

Agreed — really aggravating that she even attempts to put forth such explanations in light of the position she was serving in.

Then again, I’m not sure she sees it as serving anyone but herself.

I am not familiar with the AEC procedures as I never did any work with them. In this case the 'Illigitimus' would be DIRNSA and/or a minion (I resemble that remark). It does sound like the perfect name for such an award.

"You can't "retroactively classify" a Hillary email until you've read it."

You have to forward the email to know what's in it.

They have until Tuesday to answer these questions. What year? They will never answer before the next election cycle. Clinton Foundation bought the Server(s) and is involved in this entire mess. Anyone at the Foundation had access to Classified info. The gov’t investigators are tripping over their own feet to avoid investigating anything.. It is all delay and whitewash.

Ding, ding, ding, ding ding!!!!!

The “retroactive classification” mime is just so much dung.

Classified and unclassified email systems are separate networks and it is a security violation to move (cut and paste/retype) classified material from the classified network into the unclassified network.

These markings don’t just disappear by accident. They have to be stripped out manually.

When generated, classified material (emails or documents)contain classification markings at the beginning of each paragraph of the text ((U) for unclassified, (C)for confidential, (S) for secret, (TS) for top secret, etc.). Classification is marked on the top and bottom of each page of a document or image. Classified material is transmitted with cover pages bearing the highest classification within the document. Removing the cover page does not remove all these internal classification markings. If they are not there, they had to be removed manually.

If there is unmarked classified material within the Clinton emails, it is because it was deliberately stripped of those markings when it was being prepared. Given the published reports of her computer/email ineptness, Clinton may not have been (and probably wasn’t) the one stripping the classified markings off of the texts originally.

It doesn’t matter.

Clinton is certainly experienced enough (or so she likes to tell us) to recognize classified material when she sees it even if it isn’t marked. Every person with a security clearance is personally responsible to report this as a security violation (improperly marked and transmitted classified material)immediately whenever it occurs and to take active measures to prevent the improperly marked materials from further dissemination. This is like Basic Handling of Classified Material 101-level knowledge.

If she took the classification marking off - she’s in violation.

If she did not immediately report the removal of classification markings - she’s in violation.

If she forwarded improperly marked classified material on an unsecure unclassified network - she’s in violation.

If she allowed others to send/or receive improperly marked classified material on an unsecure unclassified network - she’s in violation.

etc.

The question is: Why?

The answer is because Queen Hillary can’t be bothered with such pedestrian, plebian concerns as the proper securing of classified material. Her convenience was far more important.

She had prior knowledge that Stevens wanted out in 2011 as I recall.

It does for Hillary, not that I agree with it. In the White House, she had Bill put her in a policy-making position (remember Hillary-care that luckily failed?).

Even not counting any of that stuff, she was New York’s carpetbagger senator in 2000. So she’s actually had a legitimate job in govt. for 15 years. So my comment stands: 15+ years plus and she has no idea how to properly handle govt. information. She’s either a complete idiot or just doesn’t give a crap about doing her job correctly.

A previous employee of Platte River said they didn’t even have an alarm for the office. Interesting how the company went from 8 employees in a 2nd floor apartment to 30 employees and held an open house in June for their new building. That’s almost a good as cattle futures.

If anyone believes those emails weren’t classified when she received them, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. This is a major CYA effort. Virtually every document the Secretary of State sees is classified. There is an unbelievably massive coverup effort in operation here. The State Dpeartment is infested with liberals; they are protecting their old boss and the media is complicit.

To add to your questions, did the Platte employees who could access the server have the requisite security clearances and need-to-know for the information on the server?

By the way, if you think you need to have physical access to the server to mine the information on it, you are mistaken. It can all be done remotely.

That’s been their plan all along. If it was classified it was only classified AFTER it came to me then went elsewhere.

Listening to the video at post 12 will shed light on the concept of why it was not marked “classified”.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3327071/posts?page=12#12

The original info was not in email format:

“Someone had to steal info from the SCIF to get it to Hillary. SCIF can’t communicate with regular internet.”

No cell phones allowed in the room and there are separate rooms for various levels of classified info.
