Crowd for Donald Trump campaign stop in Mobile could require venue change

Donald Trump's campaign stop in Mobile could prompt a venue change as more people have registered for tickets online than what the Civic Center's Theater can hold, a SMG official said Wednesday.

Bob Brazier, general manager of the Mobile Civic Center and the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, said "it appears" the attendance during Trump rally "will outgrow" the theater's 1,950 capacity.

"We're looking at everything right now," Brazier said about a rally originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday inside the theater. "We're preparing like we might have to move it."

The move likely won't be far. Brazier said there are discussions from the Trump campaign about utilizing the Civic Center Arena in addition to seating an overflow of people in the theater and expo hall. Combined, the entire facility can hold up to around 14,000 people.

Brazier said he isn't sure how many tickets have been issued through Eventbrite.com. He said the coordination is being handled by the Trump campaign.

My retired parents are going. They like his energy and the illegal immigrant stand.

I’m hoping he follows his speech with a low pass along the Gulf Shores beach in his 757.

Romney also looked like a wet noodle for the remainder of the campaign.

I have experience people on BOTH sides of the isle who are supportive of trump. It is quite shocking.

His campaign is a socially acceptable political discussion.

(ie “did you hear about Trump’s latest?”, “Did you hear about the latest insider to panic about Trump?” and so on)

It is almost festive!

Look at the paid Hispanics up front. Probably half the audience got a check. Jeb should have paid a bit more for some enthusiastic actors.

You know, because he’s a native New Yorker, I’m really not expecting Trump to understand the feelings southerners have for the Dixie flag. But I’m pretty sure this issue is probably way, way down on Trump’s list of important things to address.

New York was Copperhead Central - all my ancestors were Copperheads, so don’t underestimate New Yorkers! I want to see the Donald with a large flag waving in the background. I’ll settle for less if he just says that the south deserves to be proud of their past.

I’m here also - not a Trump fan but did get tickets to go and listen....This is all everyone’s talking about - him coming here. I was at a local pizza place yesterday and everyone sitting at the bar was discussing.

lol. You know, I’m originally from Texas. Lot of transplanted New Yorkers down there. And I have to say I never met one of them I didn’t like. I just hope everybody can put the Civil War behind us so that we don’t have another Civil War.

I agree. It’s history and a fascinating history that I happen to love but we’ve GOT to move on. I do admit I got the last flag out of Amazon during this last nasty pc event!
