I guess it’s to be expected from the Stupid Party’s leadership and its mouthpieces such as Schlichter. By the way, not voting for Señor Bush (any time, any place, any election) is what I define as an “act of love”.

This is intellectually vapid ^^^ above ^^^ - you obviously didn't read the piece nor do you know anything about the author if you say he's a "mouthpeice" of the party OR a Jeb supporter. You can disagree all you want to, but you didn't disagree, you jumped to ASSumptions.

I read nothing in the article that suggests he supports illegal immigration. To the contrary, the attacks all of the candidates who do support illegal immigration, and suggests that the reason for Trump’s support is that those candidates have betrayed the working Americans. His problem with Trump is mine: Trump has never been a conservative until suddenly.

Case in point: Does this sound like someone who os obviously oblivious to the danger of illegal aliens?

The GOP elite, for example, expected us to keep our mouths shut about the rape and murder rampages of illegal aliens and quietly bury our children while they divvied up Chamber of Commerce donations. Nope....

You started off with Jeb Bush, the alleged adult in the room, who not only pushes Common Core and amnesty but does it by scolding us about how we are selfishly rejecting an “act of love.” I doubt Katie Steinle’s family feels much love right now

So why does the author reject Trump?

He's a finger-to-the-wind charlatan who will say whatever he needs to say to maximize his own personal adulation.

Why does the author say that? Because Trump was until very recently a pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-redistribution getting rich in an industry dominated by illegal aliens and swearing to do everything he can to get Hillary elected.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t drink. He does look like he eats, though.

Indeed sir. The Left is taking a page out of the Labour Party playbook and simply changing the demographics of the U.S. to insure Dem victories as far as the I can see.

Louis Guittierez let it slip. If you can’t change voters minds, change the voters.

I actually like Donald Trump as a person. Every video I watch of the guy says that he’d be a fun and engaging person to sit and have a beer with.

Agreed. While I have no plans whatsoever to vote for him, it would be a hoot to jawbone with. Same goes for Cruz, who I've had the pleasure of voting for, and will doubtless do so again, in whatever office I can.

My apologies to Mr. Schlichter. You are correct, I did not read the piece before adding my comment but based my thinking on earlier “comments” in the thread that were equally clueless. Upon actually reading the article (imagine that) I find myself in agreement with him.

I am not a supporter of Trump (I’m a long time Cruz supporter and continue to be one) but am amazed at the amount of establishment attacks upon him. IMHO, Trump is serving a useful purpose or wreaking havoc in the GOPe’s “china shop” and THAT is something that needs to be done.

Again, my apologies. So says “House” as he heads off to the horizon with his tail between his legs.

Well let me say you just moved into the elite of the elite of FR...admitting a mistake. I have tremendous respect for that. You and I agree on almost all of that above....and while the GOP e is relentless and transparent in their attacks on Trump - and they need to be taken to the woodshed - some of us on the exact opposite side of the spectrum are wary of the Trump candidacy too.
