Environmentalists circulating image of girl carrying Walker’s decapitated head
Wisconsin Daily Independent ^ | August 17, 2015

A member of the Facebook page titled Citizens Preserving the Penokee Hills Heritage Park posted a artist depiction of a small girl carrying the severed head of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

The image, has amassed over 160 likes and 170 responses that are mostly positive.

According to the pages mission statement the purpose of their group is to provide an avenue for the distribution of research, education and information pertaining to preserving the Penokee Hills as a national heritage park in Northwestern Wisconsin.

The mission statement continues to say that this is not a forum for angry, violent or confrontational acts against people or property, but a forum focused on protecting the water, the resources and life giving aspects of the environment.

Here are a few highlighted responses that this depiction received from these non angry environmentalists:

-Thought provoking…. Is all I can say….

-While the image might be uncomfortable, let us remember that Walker’s administration has prioritized policies that have been perceived by people in Bad River to be cultural genocide. Is there a *polite* response to attempted genocide? Is there a *proper* and *respectable* manner of redress when those with whom you would discuss your grievances – those who would exterminate your way of life – ignore you?

-What a sense of release lies there. Vindication, survival! It inspires me

-Warrior women rock. The only way they will stand with Scott Walker is if they are holding his head.

-Still can’t get enough of this

The artist who did the piece is Native American artist Jodi Webster. Jodi’s bio claims that her work highlights her Woodlands lineage while also addressing the many adversities encountered by modern Native American people. Jodi is member of the Ho-Chunk Nation as well as the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

“My intentions in creating works are to enlighten the perceptions of Native people as well as positively promote women and children. By highlighting my own heritage within my work, I hope to make others aware of the distinct cultural beauty represented by each of the various 566 tribal identities. ”

Whether or not painting a girl carrying the severed head of Walker is promoting women or children in a positive way is up for debate, but it certainly sends a clear message that the governor is not well received in the Native American community.

It’s so easy to win an argument against anyone that defends this image.

Was it Scott Walker, or the EPA that dumped millions of toxic mine water into a river?

Answer: EPA. Source: Any major news source.

Probably because all the Indian men he ever encountered were the most obnoxious drunks, the Indians could care less about white men, women, and children. Indians would brutally murder babies, men, women, and children. Often times taking scalps that they would wear as trophies. They would trade thousands of acres of land for trinkets, break every treaty they ever signed with acts of brutality against innocents. Talking to a real life Indian on the American frontier would be like you or me talking to an environmental/spiritualist/hippie/islamic ISIS zealot but with exponentially less intelligence and exponentially more insanity. Probably smelt horrible too.

Most Indians in Twain’s day “were” bloodthirsty dumb as rock savages.

That’s the simple truth.

I suspect when the white men passed out blankets covered in small pox and other diseases it was retaliation against coming back to town to find everyone brutally murdered, scalped, women and children were probably raped and sodomized.

Any movie, or book glamorizing North American Indians as honorable, peaceful, and/or selfless is simply not true.

Mother Jones actually assumes its readers are not too stoned to understand all those big words?

If I were Walker I’d turn it around and use it to my advantage and simply state the result of open borders and the left’s immigration stance.

Technique and lighting: not bad.
Composition: very weak.
Overall, some awkwardness with the scale of the decapitated head. Overall attempt to communicate message is overbearing and doesn’t allow for any hierarchy of reading. The primary figure of the little girl is a lost opportunity, as the face depicts a resoluteness that muddies a reading of innocence which would have been a powerful contrast to the fact she is holding a knife and severed head.
Shallow political art.
