Republican presidential candidate John Kasich said that while his faith is important to him, Christianity was only one factor in his decision to expand Medicaid under Obamacare.
"I don't read a Bible to figure out what I think," the Ohio governor said during a Sunday appearance on CNN's State of the Union. He went on to explain that the decision to expand Medicaid would also save the state money "by taking people out of prison an letting them get a job where they would become a taxpayer."

Well then as for sonny boy K.. 'Return to Sender'.
That's odd, I thought he just smelt of elderberries...
At least he wasn’t a preacher.
huh?? I thought he was a Christian!
Yes, it was a really stupid thing to say.
I don’t care if someone ‘reads the Bible’ or not; but to speak of it this way displays his ignorance of - or disdain for - the fact that Western Civilization, with all of its arts, sciences, and advanced notions of the rights of man, was built by men who believed in and were guided by the values which came to us through the Judeo-Christian tradition.
That not only implies political clumsiness; but profound ignorance as well.
People who make pronouncements like this don’t seem to realize that the world they live in and everything that they think has *already* been influenced, for thousands of years, by that Bible ;-)
Perhaps he thinks that his entire intellect sprang fully-formed from the brow of the Public Education System.

what a sad loss for him.
reading the Bible actually renews my mind. couldn’t think
properly without it.
Kasich the lover of sodomites? naaa I wrote him off long ago!
Of course it's benign, but FR's cranks gotta crank about something.
Yeah......Pelosi and Hillary are supposedly “Christians” too....
His closest advisers need to tackle him and tell him when you find yourself in a deep hole, stop digging.
Yes, and harmless.
He’s a cafeteria Christian ie a hypocrite.
Liberalism is meant to put him in supposed good stead in front of St Peter. Yawn. Poor excuse for robbing Paul.
This alone wipes him off my list. Add to that his not needed the Bible to help justify his thinking . . . Pandering to the godless left . . .
That should work out about as well as if I was learning to fly a new airplane I bought and was trying to figure it all out on my own without consulting the Owner's Manual and instead going by rumors, superstition, and the advice from odd and sundry people I ran into at the airfield or on the internet.
It might work out OK, somewhat, (by luck) - but it might not. In any case, I wouldn't be getting the most out of my new airplane and would be flying it at lousy efficiency, if at all, and I would likely be dangerous to myself and others.
But then, that is how the entire human race mostly operates when they are without God and His Word - lurching from crisis to crisis and hardly ever getting it right.
So what else is new?
Kasich only reads the directives from his corporate sponsors. Hospitals stood to profit from expanded Medicaid.
Kasichs father was a mailman, BTW. In case you didnt know.
So what does that make him, Son of Mailman?
What on earth does that have to do with what he said?
Kasich is just a Democrat in elephant drag.
This knucklehead just keeps digging himself deeper and deeper into a hole.
