Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump would increase fees on some Mexican visas and all border crossing cards as part of a broader plan to force Mexico to pay for a wall along the southern U.S. border.
Trump, the frontrunner in a crowded Republican field, has made immigration a central plank of his campaign. On NBC's "Meet the Press," he said he would deport all undocumented immigrants and rescind U.S. President Barack Obama's executive orders on immigration.
The orders, if enacted, could protect as many as 5 million undocumented immigrants from deportation.
In a policy paper issued on Sunday, Trump said he would increase fees on temporary visas for Mexican chief executives, diplomats and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) workers if Mexico does not agree to pay for the wall.
The NAFTA agreement of 1994 eliminated most tariff and other barriers to free trade and investment between the United States, Canada and Mexico. It permits the temporary cross-border movement of business travelers within the region.
Trump said he would also impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages and increase fees at ports of entry from Mexico. Foreign aid cuts and tariffs would also be considered.

Trump now stacking the Mexican money to build that wall.
It’s a target rich environment.
It’ll work... good for Trump

This is how you lead a country.
Too bad the politicians don’t know this stuff.
Put a tax on money transfers to Mexico and other countries, too. Ear mark it directly for the Great Wall of America project.
We should first build a double fence, then use extra money from the money transfer fees to build an architectural wonder to rival China’s great wall. :-) just a thought.
So people not breaking the law would pay more.
Fancy Pants George Will’s lip is curling as we speak.
I wonder if the president of Mexico is still laughing now???
Not our problem. Our problem as US taxpayers is having to subsidize the invasion of the US and all the problems it causes.
I’m starting to take Trump seriously and I could vote for him on this issue alone.
Well thought out policy position....
I don’t care that Mexicans are here, coming here and want to improve their lives.
They need to come here legally and lawfully, like other people from all over the world.
Anyone arguing against this isn’t really arguing against racism.
Their real argument is complicity with the other Devil Worshipin, Satanic Inspired, Kommunists and they should be honest and demand the United Nations should control and direct the world, asserting its policies.
Taken to its logical end, other countries would then be in the position of enriching the bureaucrats implementing those policies at the expense of Free People.
Being a Free Man pursuing your God given right to “Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness” is why people clamor to America.
They want to live in a society of possibilities and under the universal concept that all men are treated equally under the law, with no distinction and all are given their due justice.
I would make no assumptions about the trousers of network newsmen.
In the mid seventies I spotted an ABC local 5pm news anchor drinking at West Side restaurant bar right after the show. Nice suit jacket and the most god awful plaid slacks.
Since then I have been leery of their hidden to the viewers attire. George Will could be sporting a pink tutu stolen from the Lincoln Center corps de ballet for all I know. Or canary yellow boxers printed with Home of The Whopper. One just never knows.
We can solve the illegal alien problem if we pound into the dems head how each illegal aliens carbon footprint increases by multiple orders of magnitude when they get here thus causing unstoppable global warming
aint donnie a GENIUS though?
perhaps he could again display his splendidness by buying us that much needed wall with his own cash??
I like that Great Wall part.
I visualise something like the wall in Escape from New York with Kurt Russel.
Say, one half mile of hidden IED’s, a fifty foot wall manned by snipers.
If anyone gets by that, they face one half mile of denuded, flattened ground before the second wall which is protected by IED’s and Gatling guns with interlaced fields of fire.
Overkill?
Perhaps.
But if I am going to fantasise, I will do it *big*.
How do I finance it?
A ten percent fee on all money transfers out side the fifty states.
Territories (Guam, PR, etc.) would be considered as outside transfers if they are found to be invasion conduits.
Confiscate and sell all properties owned by convicted illegals.
End all monies paid to countries with a significant number of illegal invaders. This includes *all* humanitarian and other types of aid.
All fees, confiscated property and saved aid payments would be earmarked for border protection and kept separate from the general budget.
That would be a good start.
Tax the remittances the illegals send back to mexico to finance the next wave of crossing..
Who is that Red Eye guest? Wow!
Thanks jimbo123! There is next to nothing here I disagree with. Put America first indeed. Let's see what his other positions are once the papers begin coming out. So far, so good.
