If any other candidate opened up and expressed what conservatives want they would also experience a huge boost. Close the borders, deport all illegals, change birth right citizenship, no more Muslims, welcome educated Christians legally, reverse executive orders, tear ACA out by the roots, end ethanol support, end foreign aid to anyone not our GOOD friend, balance the budget, change the tax system, go back to don’t ask don’t tell, no women in combat, single sex units in the Navy.... I think with the above stated convincingly, the Progressives in both parties could be routed. End the EPA, dept of Education...a guy could go on forever.
You hit the nail on the head. I am also puzzled by the repeated mantra that Trump is not a conservative. Why was that not an issue with people like Beck when Romney was the nominee. It was not an issue with McCain was the candidate. We have not had a conservative president since Ronald Reagan. Now, all of a sudden, we must have a “conservative” when there are none running that are more conservative than Trump. Boehner and McConnell are NOT conservative and they get a free pass from the Republican caucus. In my thinking, the survival of the country takes precedence over the liberal/conservative argument. I just happen to believe Trump for the reason I have seen him on TV for many, many years saying the same things he is saying now.

Glenn, it’s possible that so many of us who are urging Trump onward are actually supporters of the effect he’s having on the GOP, and the hoped-for RINO purge it may help to establish.
