Donald Trump is all but accusing a top Republican pollster of trying to shake him down.
After the presidential debate on Thursday night, Fox News featured a focus group conducted by Frank Luntz that utterly slammed Trump. On Monday, Trump told Business Insider that he thought he was panned by Luntz's group because he declined to hire Luntz's research firm.
"This has been going on, he's putting the arm on me all the time, and then he does these polls that are totally in violation of every other poll that was done," Trump said of Luntz.
Trump said post-debate polls that show he remains ahead of the GOP field prove the focus group was wrong. He further described Luntz, a regular contributor to Fox News and one of the country's best-known conservative consultants, as "unfair" and "terrible."
"I watch this guy do a really negative report on me, and the only reason he did it, in my opinion, is because I didn't want to hire him commercially," Trump said of Luntz. "I think it's disgusting ... I think he uses his power at Fox to maybe — to get work."
In a phone call with Business Insider, Luntz vehemently denied Trump's accusation.
"You've got to understand that I don't care who wins and loses — I only care that I'm accurate," Luntz said. "Even if I say things that candidates don't like, I don't expect them to take it personally. I don't expect them to launch World War III."

Luntz has NOTHING on Megyn Kelly. Friday night, to get back at Trump, Kelly brought it a “focus group” to lavish Car-lie Fiorina with praise. I think she must have trolled some of the off-broadway theaters a few blocks from her studio, because the acting chops were amateurish as some of these people gushed fake enthusiasm for the new chosen GOPe “star”. Everyone was saying she was the second coming of Margaret Thatcher, Megyn didn’t bother them with the facts, say that Car-lie has always been pro-amnesty, pro-common core, pro-carbon taxes and best buds with the Clintons.
Not without some good reasons to think that. I've always viewed Luntz's little wired groups with some skepticism. But he really began to show himself at that Iowa event where he threw McCain's war hero status into a conversation.
At Iowa, Luntz twice declared Trump's campaign finished: once for the McCain remarks and again for saying he did not pray for forgiveness.
And, of coure, Luntz wrote up the third death certificate for the Trump campaign after the debate, and his little focus group seem to agree heartily.
Finished paying any attention to Luntz and his wired focus groups. The guy has a personal agenda.
Luntz has a supporter in me in that I believe everyone should be able to conduct business in this country ...If Trump is lying ...which I think he is, he is hurting a legit business because he can.
The cheer leading section for Trump at FR is simply juvenile.

The Trump bashers are some of the most overly emotional and impulsive folks I've ever encountered. I guess you noticed that Luntz has already written three death certificates for the Trump campaign? A real perceptive guy there.
First thought when trump made the statement about Luntz was it was bait for a denial that will be answered with some concrete proof. Bye Buy Luntz!

WMAL, DC morning drive show, had a pollster, Bevin?, who opened by saying the nbc poll was not a scientific poll and in reality Trump might have picked up a point. Totally ignored Cruz and Dr. Carson increase. Said he wanted to wait for “real scientic numbers”. And then proceed to gush like a little girl about the huge increase in Carly’s numbers. Laughed myself silly at this blatant piece of propaganda that went unremarked by the hosts.
pollsters are like everyone else in America today, manipulators of information for their own personal selfish designs.
Finding objective truth is a lost art.
Luntz can be wrong till the cows come home but he should still be able to conduct business....

It’s your choice to do business with “wrong”/corrupt businesses. I like it when they get called out, so I can avoid having anything to do with them.

Luntz worships at the Temple of the Uncommitted, those who have no principles for which they’d fight, no guide but conflict avoidance. Compromise over victory. A light yoke over a hard won liberty. “Middle of the road uber alles”.

So you are saying that focus groups do not mean anything. Would you equate them to high school clubs where students who are interested in something (like chess) and sit around and talk about a subject, but really has no meaning outside of the club?
