WASHINGTON (AP) — Calling for a “new college compact,” Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday will unveil a $350 billion plan aimed at making college more affordable and reducing the crushing burden of student debt.

At a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, the state with the highest average student debt in the country, Clinton will propose steps to reduce the cost of four-year public schools, make two-year community colleges tuition-free and cut student loan interest rates, according to campaign aides.

And to think that the Washington Post just had a headline about the GOP candidates being forced to the right! Gee, will they have a headline about Hillary here being forced by Bernie and Elizabeth to move to the left?

Free college to extend adolescence to age 22, paid for by the ever generous taxpayer. Of course, since this is the ‘PUBLIC’ institutions, what will happen to the costs of the Ivy League and the other PRIVATE institutions? Wait for the screams about how this will further separate the haves and have-nots!

Only a fool would call for spending $350 billion and name it “affordable” after calling for a half-trillion for solar power.

How much money will she promise before this campaign is over?

If you really want to make college affordable, abolish student loans.

the best thing you can do to lower tuition is end the guaranteed student loan program. when the private universities don’t have the guaranteed money coming in you will see tuition go down along with the universities ending useless degree programs that dot lead to work.

Whores in politics. Or, political whores. Leeches who have nothing to commend themselves to the peasants so they make outlandish promises to be paid for with, you guessed it, taxes.

If the system isn't broken, it's surely bent.

That’s what the government take over of loans was about.

Funny because I read a statistic a while back that only 24% of the workforce has a degree.

And I think 1/2 of those degrees are for “Home Ec”, “The Arts” and some wasteful “Social Degree”.

Completely useless and saddles them with loans before they ever start earning money.

I have seen three of my nieces taken advantage of by my sister who had them take out student loans to pay rent to her while living at home and going to junior college. I have no problem with my sister asking for rent from her kids but having them take out loans instead of insisting they get jobs and work while going to school I do have a problem with.

“No way the College Cartel goes along with this plan...”

Sure they are. That’s what the 350 billion is for.
