Trump and Fox said to be in talks over Monday interview
CNN ^

Posted on 08/10/2015 6:59:32 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Donald Trump and the Fox News Channel are in talks about Trump possibly appearing on Fox on Monday night, according to a source with knowledge of the talks.

Trump has been lambasting Fox for days, ever since he was challenged in last week's GOP debate.

It is "highly unlikely" Trump would appear at 9 p.m. with host Megyn Kelly, the source said, and that's probably an understatement. Trump has repeatedly and personally insulted Kelly in recent days.

But talks are underway about a Trump interview with another prime time host, like Sean Hannity, the source said, adding that nothing had been confirmed as of Monday morning.

In the meantime, Fox has dramatically ratcheted down its coverage of Trump. It hasn't covered Trump's criticisms of Kelly and the two other debate moderators, Chris Wallace and Bret Baier.

Trump's most recent tweet about Fox came on Sunday afternoon: "It amazes me that other networks seem to treat me so much better than Fox News. I brought them the biggest ratings in history, and I get zip!"

This is a true clash of titans. Fox News is the favored network of Republicans, and Trump is the Republican campaign front-runner.

Hang on does that warrant moderator approval?

Megyn will go the way of Katie Couric. Same path.

Fox will pay a price. Trump will make sure of that.

Hannity is begging him to appear. From what I hear.

The Fox Party Line is:

1. Trump is finished because of his performance in the debate.
2. The Moderators were "Fair and Balanced".

I really don't see Trump showing up on Hanity or anywhere on Fox without doing all he can, probably successfully, to destroy both of those myths. This has to be front in center with the Execs at FNC. What to do. What too do. Ratings or Reputation. Decisions, decisions.

We do live in interesting times.

Trump should insist on an apology by Fox first - not for him, but for all of us.

Too late, me thinks. I, like many I've read on various threads, have quit tuning to Fox News. The cold turkey approach hasn't hurt as much as I thought it would.

One condition: A new debate with Gretta, Levin, and Ingraham as moderators.

Said last night when she challenged the Donald about taking on Putin she would trigger this response. If you have garbage like this is your background. Shut your mouth. Otoh she now will get all the sexual attention she has sickly been craving. Therapy is in her future. Check her in!

It's times like this when I really happy I don't watch much TV. I think Fox has sucked for a few years and they were the most "objective" of the bunch.

I did watch the debate and thought the questions, under the guise of being "tough" were all gotcha questions and frankly limited the ability of a potential voter to understand what a candidate may or may not support. The debate wasn't a debate.

Very few, if any, women who are public figures have the guts and integrity to go against the politically correct womens’ movement thing which has in modern times attempted to eviscerate men and masculinity, destroyed marriages and families, and killed over 70 million unborn, not to mention left women themselves unhappy and confused. The women’s movement has probably been the single most destructive element in modern culture and society. Few public figures will assent to that reality and most, if not all, women will defend it. Looks like Ann Coulter may be an exception.

Trump (and others) should make new news network (or take over one that exisits). Make it to the Right of Fox. Do it up right! Work with Matt Durdge, etc... Trump News! Give a forum for Carson, Cruz, Lee, etc... Call out PC and “Black Lives” and “War on Women”. It could be a success and drive Fox down in the ratings—They want to go all lefty—Let em. This could be the symbolic start of a new movement—a new Tea Party II—Sons of Liberty.

Agreed. I came away from that debate thinking Fox is no better than the left. Instead of letting us make the decision on who to vote for, they tried to make that decision for us by trying to take Trump out of the running because they don’t like him or think he should be there. Give each candidate a fair shake and let the American people decide on their own.

Hear! Hear! She would treat him fairly with no ‘personality’ involved. Not so certain about Hannity.

This question not meant as criticism of your posting this, Rooster. But what stories are being ignored while the msm, blogs etc. continue to harp on this story?

Worse, however, Kelly essentially made Scott Walker unelectable in the general with the abortion question. “Doesn’t that take you too outside the mainstream?” You don’t think that will be looped if Walker is the nominee, with a reboot of the War On Women?

The Dems don’t need secret recordings of anything this election cycle. Fox news has given them all the ammo they need push whatever sterotypes and memes they want.
