Citizens of Brazil who were born in Jerusalem will have their passports amended to eliminate Israel from the line denoting place of birth. Existing passports are to be reissued with the offending term deleted, and passports that are not changed will be invalid at the end of the year.
While the rule change would appear to have been influenced by the U.S. Supreme Court decision earlier this year that Americans born in Jerusalem could not have their birthplace listed as Jerusalem, Israelbut rather would be listed as Jerusalem aloneBrazil had apparently made the decision on dropping Israel a year ago, according to the Brazilian embassy in Tel Aviv.
Speaking to JTA, the officials said that the rule had been due to be implemented for some time, but was only publicized last week.

Have the nazis taken control of Brasil, too? What a shame..
It’s funny (in a tragic and evil way) how it seems the world decries “ethnic cleansing,” the one and only exception over the centuries consistently being Jews.
I still can’t believe that what the UN wants is “The City of David,” the place where Solomon’s Temple stood, to be “cleansed” of Jews.
Mark
Why can’t you believe that about the UN? You do understand the nature of the UN, right? Its charter is a clone of the 1936 USSR constitution, deliberately made so by Alger Hiss, down to the title “Secretary General” (same title as the head of the Communist Party in every Communist state).
BTW, don’t forget about Zerubbabel’s Temple.
Yes, Brazil is Nazi country.
Just getting ready for the Antichrist. He’ll have a marvelous “peace plan” where all the world gets to “share” religions under islam, Judaism and Christianity.
It will be a covenant for 7 Biblical years.
Halfway thru........
I really should have said, "the rest of the world, including much of the West."
The UN is nothing more than a bunch of tin-pot dictatorswho either directly hate Western Civilization, or are puppets of China or Russia, who want to see the USA destroyed.
But antisemitism has a long history in Europe, many centuries old.
Mark
Here in Germany, this seems to also be the case with the passports of naturalized persons originally born in Eastern Europe. Considering how fluid some national boundaries have been, this is perhaps understandable.
Regards,
Hmmmm. I think I’m seeing Brazil sink into even deeper insignificance in the near future.
I’ve read that many of the German Nazi war criminals escaped to South America, particularly to Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. Their stolen wealth and political beliefs apparently took hold in their new surroundings.
The U. N. is just pure evil. I think it works hand in hand with Islam.
How else to you explain it supporting nationhood for the Arabs on the West Bank and Gaze, although they want Israel destroyed?
The U. N. needs to go.
Honestly, the world would be much better off.
Jerusalem as "corpus separatum" was part of the UN's original Partition Plan for Palestine, which Israel accepted. OTOH, the Palestinians didn't accept the partition plan.
There were no “Palestinians” back then either. Just Arabs, who adopted the false moniker later.
You do know what particular aspect of the UN doomed it to failure, aside from it being a repeat of its predecessor? Alger Hiss deliberately had its charter set up as a clone of the USSR’s constitution of 1936.
What does that have to do with this? This is an alteration, not a tradition; and it’s well known what removing Jerusalem as a part of Israel means in terms of foreign policy.
I don’t understand the separation of Jerusalem from Israel. Jerusalem is inseparable from Israel ideologically. When you think of that small area, the Bible whose pages are thousands of years old, it’s just strange to think of some of those places not in Israel’s borders. Joseph’s tomb? It’s just weird the disconnect with the historical reality of the region.
The current German practice of stating only the name of the city, and not of the country, of one's birthplace, is not a tradition. It was instituted only recently - and not for all countries.
And stating only, e.g., "Mariupol" instead of "Mariupol, Ukraine" could by all means be construed as a political statement (namely one denying or at least casting doubt upon the validity of the Ukraine's existence as a sovereign nation).
Regards,
That says a lot about Germany then.
Interesting perspective about Ukraine too.
