It’s funny (in a tragic and evil way) how it seems the world decries “ethnic cleansing,” the one and only exception over the centuries consistently being Jews.

I still can’t believe that what the UN wants is “The City of David,” the place where Solomon’s Temple stood, to be “cleansed” of Jews.

To be fair, Brazil is not the only nation whose passports state only the name of the city, and not the name of the country, in which one is born.

Here in Germany, this seems to also be the case with the passports of naturalized persons originally born in Eastern Europe. Considering how fluid some national boundaries have been, this is perhaps understandable.

I’ve read that many of the German Nazi war criminals escaped to South America, particularly to Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. Their stolen wealth and political beliefs apparently took hold in their new surroundings.
