And the Republican Circular Firing Squad forms up again.
Whatever happened to Reagan’s 11th Commandment?
Fiorina came out of last week’s debate perfectly and has decided to go after Trump multiple times since. These people never learn. I think she is calculating that she can benefit getting women voters if/when they abandon Trump. Typically politician. She and the GOP are now playing the pathetic ‘war on women’ game. Losers, all.
She is ruining the momentum she got earlier this week.
It’s there. There is one actual Reagan Repulican running. Cruz. And he isn’t playing the games the R-libs are.
I believe that ‘commandment’ died along with Constitutional observance........
Can you point to a similar post you made when Carly attacked Trump?
Yea, I thought you couldn’t.
Cruz totally destroyed at commandment. It is no longer valid.
I agree that the attacks on Trump do seem to violate Reagan’s commandment. And while I’m no Trump backer, I have no doubt the GOPe has indeed set out the orders to take him out. Any threat to Jeb’s coronation must be disposed of.
That said, Trump is not doing himself any good. He wants to stick up for himself and counterpunch. Great. But it reminds me of a situation that a friend and I talked about a few years back. Brandon Phillips of our suffering Cincinnati Reds called the St. Louis Cardinals players a bunch of whiners. He comes into the batter’s box to start the game, and the Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina starts, well whining, and an onfield brawl breaks out.
This is kind of the same thing. Megyn Kelly, whether she should have done it or not, asks him if past dealings with women will make it easy for Hillary (or whomever) to ramp up the “war on women meme”.
So now here Trump is saying, “That’s not fair, that’s not me.” And it may not be. Yet here he is as well continuing to rant about Megyn Kelly, to rant about Carly Fiorina, and yeah, Chris Wallace. But he’d better darn well be prepared and his supporters better darn well be prepared to realize that if he’s going to carry on for days in long drawn out battles with women, whether it’s accurate or not, and whether he started it or not, it WILL be portrayed as Donald Trump’s war on women. Particularly if he keeps getting into these skirmishes. And yeah, he’s still doing well in the polls so maybe it will hurt him and maybe it won’t. But that WILL be the Democratic party narrative if he’s still in the race running as a Republican late in the game.
Reagan’s 11th commandment applied when Republicans were content to sit in the back of the bus for 40 years while the Democrats drove the nation over the cliff. If a few patriots had had the courage to protest the desecration of the Constitution then, we wouldn’t have Obama singlehandedly defeating America now.
Donald Trump is NOT a true Republican. Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment, therefore, does not apply to him.
If you really want to be president, Donald, run as a Democrat.
Reagan’s Commandment is and should be respected for ‘other Republicans’, not someone who happens to be very good at publicity who suddenly and even admittedly is a “maybe Republican”.
Trump sure is not acting very Presidential pettily snipping back at everyone that says his name without a smile on their face.
Yes what happened to Reagan’s commandment?
Without exception the GOP candidates attacked Trump FIRST. When Trump counter-punched, everybody starts whining!
