Good thing this wasn’t too interesting - I put my phone down just in time!

I think using a cell phone or i-phone in public should be consider a social tabu. Find a spot away from the public to talk or text.

That’s just plain silly. I read books on my phone on the commuter train. Should that be prohibited? What about books? Also not allowed?

Texting while driving... Sure that should be illegal with very strong penalties. But looking at your phone while your sitting on a park bench?

You sound like a nanny-stater.

What the hell are you doing paying for TV? So you can feed the Hollywood lie machine, rot your brain and waste money? And if you have the whole family on a cell phone plan, why do you need a land line? Just for the DSL?

Hitlery is dangerous to our health. Bathhouse Barry has already put us in intensive care.

The links are tentative, but I was speaking even more so to the idea that cell phones are some nefarious plot to control population through brain cancer. I’m willing to bet that every person who works for Verizon, et al, all have cell phones and don’t fear death by them.

B/S.

“1.Cell phones have become the number one distraction to humans in all segments of society.”

Replacing Boobs? I don’t think so.

“2 - Cell phone use is now a major cause of driving fatalities”

Replacing drunk wetbacks? I don’t think so.

“3 - Cell phones have destroyed human person-to-person communication”

Redundant, no more than the “land line” did? I don’t think so.

“4 - Cell phones emit dangerous EMF waves and cause cancer “

Any proof of that? I don’t think so.

“5 - Cell phones have made many other electronics practically obsolete- destroyed buyers choice”

That one is just too stupid.

“6 - Smart cell phones provide platform for government to track everything you do “

Like they couldn’t without them?

“7 - Cell phones have provided a portable instant access to the deep matrix of lies “

No more than any other form of communication.

The article is bunk but thanks for the post. Bernie Suarez
is just another person who got mad at T-Mobile.

“In the photo, morons hugging in a traffic lane.”

Looks more like a wetback complete with anchor baby sneaking
back in.

Yeah, you’re right—I hadn’t even bothered to read the whole thing. More idiotic paranoia, with the idea that the cell phone industry is motivated to cause more cancer because of the business that provides the health care sector.

The next president.

Obama: The worst head of state in the history of mankind.

Hillary: The most disgusting head of state in the history
of mankind.

That thing is the absolute best excuse for a human the democrats can
offer and Jeb and his worshipers are going to give it to
us.

You’re overboard there, there is just no comparison between the old land line phone system and cell phones. You can’t carry the old phone with you, you can’t text on it, take pictures with it etc. You can’t refuse to speak on it as some do with cell phones, that would negate its only purpose.

A couple years ago I was rear ended by a young woman (23) at 45 mph. I was stopped and waiting for a turn. She was texting.

“A couple years ago I was rear ended by a young woman (23) at 45 mph. I was stopped and waiting for a turn. She was texting.”

I try to keep my eyes on the rear view and have avoided an accident by swerving off the road. (I don’t know what the driver was doing but he wasn’t paying attention.) I’ve seen drivers I thought were drunk only to discover they are paying attention to their phone. Trouble is, events change in seconds and even if you do see a hit coming, often all you’ll be able to do is brace yourself.

You can send a picture and text by Fax. There are cordless phones. Caller ID will let you refuse a call and even block
them. The fact is you can call someone and talk to them and
you say that is “no comparison”?
And you think I’m overboard? Get real, it’s just a stupid article.

Last week on I 81, I encountered a woman in al old green pontiac weaving into my lane

as I cautiously passed her I noted that she hat a large burger in her right hand and was thumbing her phone with her left hand that was also steering

I think women proudly refer to it as multitasking

“A couple years ago I was rear ended......”

A couple years ago I was rear ended by a young woman (23) at 45 mph. I was stopped and waiting for a turn. She was farding. Or, yelling at the kids, changing the radio station,
retrieving a dropped cigaret, looking at a billboard, etc... I know that rear-end collisions didn’t exist before the
cellphone was invented but since then we have found that
they are not the only reason this new phenomenon of
running into other cars happens.

All true, but this woman was texting. I was lucky. I could’ve been dead and it would’ve been because she was texting.

It is a problem and bringing other issues into it does not mitigate that fact.

Texting does add a new dimension to the dangers inherent in distracted driving. How best to address the problem? Maybe with a very strong presumption of guilt for anyone who runs in to anything in the forward direction? That would cut down on tail-gating, too.

If you run into anything in the forward direction, along with any civil liabilities, lose your license for 2 years?
