Donald Trump: ‘I’m not a debater’
Yahoo News ^ | 2 Aug 2015 | Dylan Stableford Dylan Stableford

Four days before the first debate of the 2016 presidential election cycle, Republican front-runner Donald Trump says viewers shouldn’t expect to see fireworks from his side of the stage.

“I’m not a debater,” Trump said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday. “These politicians — I always say, they’re all talk, no action. They debate all the time. They go out and they debate every night. I don’t debate.”

“Maybe my whole life is a debate, in a way,” Trump continued. “But the fact is I’m not a debater and they are. But with that being said, I look forward to it. We’ll see what happens. Who knows?”

The real estate mogul says he won’t be in attack mode — a shift from what we’re used to seeing from Trump on the campaign trail.

“I don’t think I’m going to be throwing punches,” he said. “I’m not looking to attack them. … Every attack I made was a counterpunch. I mean, they attacked me first and I hit them back and maybe harder than they hit me. But the fact is that I’ve been attacked pretty viciously by some of these guys. And I have a lot of respect for numerous people on the stage. I will tell you, I have great respect for some of the people on the stage. But I have been attacked and I counterpunch. I didn’t start the attacks.”

Thursday’s primetime GOP debate, televised on Fox, will feature the top 10 Republican candidates as calculated by an average of the last five major national polls, according to the network’s rules. And a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday shows Trump is surging.

In other words, 86% of the voters don’t back Bush.

Trump has staff. Should issues arise, he can get quality council and make fact based decisions. This far out, it’s best just toy with the oposition.

Gotta look at all the facts.

Absolutely, my good FRiend.

And, if someone were running as a fake candidate, that person just might be disinclined to put the time into learning all of that U.S. History, World History, Geography, and Poly Sci if that person did not actually want to win the nom and election.

We are on the same side here. My job is to make sure that we have a healthy skepticism of our candidates.

Sadly, I was right about Perot.

Twice.

If he wins the GOP nomination, he beats Hillary.

No, my good FRiend.

If Mister Trump were to win the GOP nomination, he is now in a new race. The last two to win the nom lost.

Please consider that the only reason that Wm Blythe (Clinton) won his two races was that the opposition field was divided.

The Clintons have known for over a decade that they need another Perot to win. And, that this "Perot" will need to be in the GOP primary. So, who has a long history w the Clintons, was a Dem for years, and all of a sudden changed parties and beliefs? Trump.

Don't be deceived. Trump is a poseur, I suspect most strongly.

Every question should be answered with a reference to the book to be released that day. After several questions he should get a calculator out. Say nothing until they ask what he was doing. Then reply “checking on the sales of book to see how much I ve made since we stArted this!”

With respect to the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, there are actually fewer federal government policies to debate then the corrupt media and “misguided” presidential candidates would probably like for everybody to think imo, many federal policies undebatably unconstitutional if citizens would take a few minutes to actually read the Constitution.

How do you explain to yourself the way he’s going after her?
He should run third party. 1, The GOP cannot be trusted not to pull any low down, dirty tricks once it’s too late. & 2. Shitlery is going to be so radioactive when he gets through with her, she isn’t going to stand a prayer.

lol obviously you have not had the opportunity to read his book “Time to get tough”. It contains in depth details of Trump manifesto.

Check here again after you read it, and tell us on which paragraphs you disagree.

This, my good FRiend is where I agree with the Trump folks.

Mea culpa.

There is no defending the likes of... Rove, J Bush, Rubio, Graham, and to kick it up a level, Priebus. "Dreamers" and "Pathways" are mere euphemisms to promote de facto amnesty for illegal aliens, and this is my personal point of no return.

That said, there are many among the gaggle of primary candidates, who are much more inline w conservative ideals and goals.

I look forward to the first debates.

And, hopefully you do as well.

The GOP bastards in Washington picked Jeb to be the nominee in 2016. In so doing the GOP dug their own grave a long time ago. Jeb Bush is so dang liberal Hillary can actually run to his RIGHT and beat him with no effort whatsoever.

It doesn’t matter what Trump does. Listen to Jeb speak about diversity and amnesty and you’ll realize he’s campaigning as if he’s a democrat.

Trump and Cruz are one thousand times better.

lol...You have to love all the experts out here. I like the one's giving advise to Trump or the dozens of political pundits straining to tell us what to think about Trump. From my point of view, few even care what they think anymore.☺

Or the people running around trying to convince all he'll never run, he's not serious, he'll never file with the FEC, he'll never make it to the debates, he doesn't really want to be president, it's a set up to make sure Hillary wins, any second now Trump's going cancel his campaign and just disappear, and on and on.

A third Bush is never going to be elected to the White House! He will be trounced like Romney!

That’s why the media and the democrats want so desperately for Jeb to be the GOP nominee!

How do you explain to yourself the way he’s going after her?

At first I thought it was proof he was against her. Then I realized that if he was working for her, all that mattered was that he split the Right - that would give her the math she needs. So in that case, she already knows he'll attack her, that's part of the plan.

But.

There's attack, and then there's attack. And he's not just distancing himself from her in a calculated political way, he's landing multiple body blows that are increasing Democrat doubt about her and drawing attention to her criminal activities while she tries to let it all fade away through non-acknowledgement.

That's not the action of an ally. Plus, he's going beyond being just a Pubbie vote splitter - he's leading the whole damn Republican pack!

LOL, we just might actually be looking at the real deal!

The leader of the Free World must be able to comport him or herself well in a debate forum (with an above average command of all the facts at hand), my good FRiend. U.S. (and World) History tells us that.

I was thinking the same thing. Being a politician is quite different than being CEO or a King and Trump is now seeking the job of politician. A politician has to defend and explain one's positions and rally people around your beliefs. Trump is smart and will probably learn how to debate ... or he will fall by the wayside.
