We have not been able to buy meat or enough groceries for some time. I have found ways to make tempeh and tofu work. I also dropped 15 pounds this year already, but not out of a need to. I was 125 and just got weighed and am 104. I was shocked. We are hungry all the time. My dear neighbors have been buying food for us as we truly don’t want to take the stamps.

Saw 85% ground beef for $8.99 lb. On sale no less.

But I am comforted that mY SS check, for which I paid in for nearly 60 years, will go up enough to pay 1/2 a pound a week.

Thanks Congress...thanks O’Bama!

Read “America 3.0” for a possible solutuion to our situation.

“Don’t forget the white mans tax on tanning sessions.”

I hear orange colored ‘tans’ are tax free, but a common side effect is frequent bouts of uncontrollable crying.

you can judge the price of meat around here with how fast the rabbits run.

They are pretty quick now.

I would hope that $100 is for more than a week. I was able to keep my grocery budget at $40 a week for quite a while but no more. It’s up to $50 a week now, and I use a senior discount card and every useful coupon I can find. Dollar Tree and I have become fast friends.

Wait until Obama’s last day in the White House. All hell will suddenly break loose as the press finally climbs off the lid they’ve been holding down.

Fortunately both Aldi and Lidl are expanding on the groceries front.

Yup. $10 a six pack for a decent beer around here. Fortunately the price of home brew kits has been fairly stable.

With a $10 buzzer. I have used the same one for years. I guess the price of a haircut does rise a tad with the increase in the electric rate.

With a $10 buzzer. I have used the same one for 15+ years. I guess the price of a haircut does rise a tad with the increase in the electric rate. It’s pretty easy. I long ago got over any desire to “style” it. I just cut it short sides and back and put a deeper attachment on the buzzer to go over what is left of the top. I do it every 5 or 6 weeks.

Yet the stepped-up price tags for a range of consumer items are the largest since the Great Recession ended six years ago. They actually reflect a healthier economy. Many companies have finally grown confident enough to pass their higher costs on to consumers without fear of losing business.

That's the spin, eh?
