Defunding Planned Parenthood would increase abortions

I have to admit that my first reaction to the Planned Parenthood videos was to cringe and try to avoid the topic.

Even for those who support abortion rights, there is a stomach-churning aspect to the surreptitiously taped conversations with Planned Parenthood officials - the cold-blooded discussion, between bites of salad and sips of red wine, of "less crunchy" techniques to obtain specimens, and the precise placement of "graspers" to avoid having to "crush" a valuable body part.

If you hear this and fail to squirm, there is something wrong with you.

That response is, of course, what the anti-abortion activists who posed as purchasers and prodded the officials into discussions of payment were counting on. The ensuing uproar, which is taking the congressional form of a clamor to strip Planned Parenthood of its federal funding, was predictable.

It is also not rational - whatever your position in the abortion debate.

If you are among those who view abortion tantamount to murder, I respect your belief. But consider: Defunding Planned Parenthood would inevitably result in more unplanned pregnancies and therefore more abortions, not fewer. In fact, if you really want to reduce the number of abortions, you should be lobbying to increase funding for Planned Parenthood and other organizations that provide birth control.

Taking money away from the baby killers at Planned Parenthood means that people like me would never be able to find a doctor to give us a prescription for birth control pills ... and that means that we will get pregnant a lot more ... and that means we will have to murder many more babies ... somewhere ... and you conservatives surely don't want to be responsible for that!

Doesn’t BOcare cover birth control?

Isn’t everyone mandated to have BOcare?

Why then do we need PP?

Yeah. “Give me free birth control or the kid gets it!” Sounds like a murder threat to me.

Doesn’t BOcare cover birth control?

That was Ben Carson's answer to the question. Great minds.....

... and taking away sugary drinks and bacon would result in more "unplanned" weight gain and therefore more heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and therefore death.

I love these broad and sweeping "logical statements" from intellectual midgets... I mean "little people".

I don’t understand why we don’t use the same stupid arguments that these people seem to accept for gun control ... IE ... common sense requirements for liberals to be required to take birth control... in order for abortions to be the absolute last resort... I mean it only makes sense... if we can save just one life... etc.

It sounds like it was written with letters cut and paste from magazines and newspapers.

It would not mean more unplanned pregnancies. It would result in fewer pregnancies as now (for those who would otherwise have an abortion) there is a penalty to casual sex. It would return importance and responsibility to the act of sex.

It’s all about game theory. Change the rules and the players adjust to win. In Tallahassee they studied a few intersections and determined that x% of drivers were running red lights. Therefore, if they installed cameras they’d make y amount of money. They spent a lot of money installing cameras but made very little money. The drivers adjusted instantly to the new rules and stopped running red lights. They have decided to remove the cameras this month, as they are losing money.

In the 1960’s there were fewer black divorces and blacks had a stronger family environment than whites. But the government started paying unwed black women for each baby. If they got married then the payments stopped. We see the result of this game today with something like 55% of black children born out of wedlock. It’s all game theory.

true story... a guy at work was moving and he brought an old cuckcoo clock to the shop. One of the bellows that made the clock Cuckcoo was worn out, so I took the clock and rigged the internals with a bolt that would fall and hit the button of one of those swearing keychain fobs, instead of dropping the set of bellows... the result was every 15 minutes, the clock would chime, "F*** YOU!".

We called it the "F.U. Cuckcoo". 20 years later I run into guys that are still amazed that I was able to make it work.

“Overall numbers aren’t available, but Planned Parenthood told me...”

So a baby-murdering, slice & dice body-part selling organization “told” the reporter something, and she took it at face value.

That’s some darn good reporting there, honey.

OR...you could demand the numbers be made publicly available and you wouldn’t have to worry about conscience-inclined individuals making surreptitious videos in an effort to expose the ungodly, inhumane dishonesty of un-Planned Parenthood.

Federal law permits "reasonable payments associated with the transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal tissue."

So let me get this straight, some of our federal income taxes go to Planned Parenthood to pay for pre-birth human body parts? If so, sounds to me like a reason for we Christians to cheat on the federal income tax. Christians in some foreign countries have been imprisoned for lesser "crimes" that that.

Birth control is available at any CVS that hasn’t been burned down yet, at Walgreen’s and all other drug stores. Plus refill prescriptions can be mailed right to your door. Some forms of birth control don’t even require a prescription.

There’s just no logic to this. How can getting rid of a human butcher shop increase abortions?

I really don’t see why the left is worried anyway, the RINO’s will cave in. As usual they will put up a good show, then let the left have their way. And don’t forget them giving us the middle finger.

:: Defunding Planned Parenthood would inevitably result in more unplanned pregnancies ::

So, is it the funding that is doing the impregnating our the workers of PP impregnating so many women?
