Turkey Launches All-Out War: 260 Kurds Dead in a Week
Arutz Sheva ^ | 1/8/15

Turkey has killed 260 Kurdish militants in a week-long air offensive on targets in northern Iraq, official media claimed Saturday, as regional Iraqi authorities said it was time the rebels pulled out with concerns growing over civilian casualties.

Ankara has launched a two-pronged "anti-terror" offensive against Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists in Syria and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants based in northern Iraq after a wave of attacks inside Turkey.

But so far the bombardments have focused far more on the Kurdish rebels and a report by the official Anatolia news agency of 260 alleged PKK militants killed was the first concrete indication of the scale of the casualties.

The Turkish strikes against Kurdish forces come as critics say Ankara is using backlash against a massive ISIS suicide bombing late last month to crack down on the Kurds, in a move that comes after Western officials revealed Turkey has been cooperating with ISIS.

When PKK bombs start going all over Turkey again, Erodgan will only have himself to blame, but chaos and terrorism might be what he wants to shore up his government after losing the majority in the last election.

The Kurds attack ISIS; Turkey attacks the Kurds.

Not a difficult task to tell how Turkey comes down on the terror war.

RE: "[For] Erodgan . . . chaos and terrorism might be what he wants to shore up his government after losing the majority in the last election."

Could be. I have posted photos of millions of Turks in the streets opposing Erdogan's Islamism and Sharia Law plans.

As awful as Erdogan and the AK Party are nevertheless,

for those who do not know,

the enemy remains the PKK not the Iraqi Kurds. Read the article.

The PKK is a terrorist organization that's been at war with Turkey since the 1980s. Our own State Department has declared the PKK a terrorist organization.

The PKK teamed with Syrian Kurds to fight ISIS.

The PKK has been attacking Turks from their northern Iraq camps for years. The current Islamist government of Turkey, Erdogan's AK Party, is opposed by millions of Turks but Turkey's enemy has been the PKK since the 1980s.

The enemy is not Iraqi Kurds. Turkey does not want the PKK to establish another stronghold to launch attacks across Turkey's border with Syria.

From the article

Turkey's Kurdish militants have sought cover in neighboring northern Iraq where the presence of the PKK has long been tolerated in Iraqi Kurdish-ruled region. More fighters also crossed into the area from Turkey as part of the 2013 ceasefire.

Yet the PKK's relations with the autonomous Iraqi Kurdish authorities in Arbil have been beset by tensions, while Iraqi Kurds have expanded economic cooperation and relations with Turkey.

If it is air attacks only then it is NOT all out war.

The Turks would like to do to the Kurds what they did to the Armenians.

Turkey is not our friend.

This bothered me too when I saw it.

Demographic changes, believe it or not, but at the current growth rate, I did read that the Kurds would be on their way to be a majority in Turkey in a few decades.

Once again, our ruling regime does things backwards:

“Obama’s deal with Ankara is a betrayal of Syrian Kurds”
http://ekurd.net/obamas-deal-with-ankara-is-a-betrayal-of-syrian-kurds-2015-08-02

ISIS wouldn’t have a good number of their fighters imho, if they could not travel through Turkey.

Then, in Turkey, the Kurds got hit with a bomb. Buzzards who did it.

So? They no longer deserve to be in NATO, although the latter should use their air fields for all they’re worth before the final break with Turkey comes, and it is coming imho.

The two “greatest” presidents have lifted hands rating the successes of their great tenures and both have been a recipient of the coveted Nobel Piece Prize for their work in helping the world to be more pieceful place. In one corner, Jimmy “Peanut” Carter, in the other is Barry Barack Sutera Hussein Obama.

Which one can say “I am the Greatest”? And the decision is? Hands down!
