A super PAC supporting former tech executive Carly Fiorina's run reported raising $3.5 million -- with a half-million dollar lift from a super PAC supporting GOP presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.).

The pro-Cruz PAC, Keep the Promise I, reported the disbursement Friday in a document filed with the Federal Election Commission. That is...unusual, to say the least.

Cruz has four allied super PACs, all named some variation of “Keep the Promise.” Together they raised an estimated $38 million...

Initial thought: they want a competitive race. Ted and his supporters have been fairly civil to every Republican who has entered the race.

The answer is bad journalism.

This article implies that Ted Cruz controls these Pacs directly.

The truth is the opposite.

It is illegal for him to have any control over the spending done by pacs.

She is about the only one taking it to Hillary. Female candidates can get away with it; men can’t. He, and the other brain dead Republicans, need her message to stay alive.

Meanwhile, Ted is taking on Obama, McConnell and Boehner.

Ted is not to be expected to run a routine campaign, he is a genius. Maybe the two of them plan to team at the debates. Carly has to make it into the main debate maybe Ted is just helping her make it.

She’s can hit Clinton with some shots that a male candidate would be called sexist by the media!

Well said. I want Carly in this race for as long as possible, at 2 percent, ripping Hillary to shreds every week, for the next 12 months.

She is good for the race and will be great in the debate.

Personally I would make her my secretary of state.

Try this on for size.

Trump/Fiorina. I like this better than Trump/Cruz.

VP’s tend to disappear in this country. If Cruz isn’t going to win the Presidency, I would rather him be ? Senate Majority Whip ?, where he could kick squishy GOPe butt for Trump.

Regardless of the reason:

This is why I donate directly to the candidate.

I make out my check to Ted Cruz campaign for President and mail it to an address in Houston.

It is my understanding, looking at Cruz’s web page that this is going directly to him.

She is more liberal than I, but she is impressive in an interview and with her delivery. I think she would be a very effective VP choice. She is almost as good as Cruz at handing a journalist their a$$ back to them on a platter. She would be taking a lot more heat from the media if her numbers were better.

Cruz would be a great head of the DOJ. I would expect myriad lawsuits and investigations once he takes that Office.

Carly actually knows how to shut people up with the gotcha questions and talking points.

If she is an ally of Cruz, then that would be great.

Very true. With his legal knowledge, Cruz fits almost anywhere.
