2016 GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump has been hurling insult after insult on the campaign trail.
Trump has let loose on both Democrats and Republicans, rival candidates, lawmakers, journalists and even pop culture icons.
He blasted Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), questioning the Vietnam veteran's service and saying he was "not a war hero," which brought him wide criticism.
Trump held 24 percent support among likely Republican voters according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll earlier this week. But the poll also suggested his support dropped following the remarks about McCain.
Trump, though, is showing no sign he'll tone down his attacks.

Why aren’t these journalists accurate and honest enough to explain that most of these are in direct response to insults from others?

I haven’t heard Trump insult anyone who didn’t insult him first. As soon as he announced it was open season, but The Donald is no rabbit.
Reads like a 4th grade writing assignment.
Trump never said McCain was ‘not a war hero’ he said ‘He is a war hero, he is a war hero, he is a war hero for being captured. I prefer people who aren’t captured.’ Crude and unkind to POW’s, but it is what it is.
McCain was a war hero simply because he was shot down. It has been mentioned that he was a very poor and had lost more than his fair share of aircraft. Truth be told, he was a poor student at Annapolis, a poor pilot who lost at least four aircraft and owed his entire Navel career to the fact that his father and grandfather where both highly decorated Navy Admirals.
McCain was shot down and was captured. Had he been a better pilot , he may have avoided being shot down. Regardless, he was beaten and broken by the North Vietnamese and was offered special treatment due to his father, but didn’t take it.
He was a war hero. He is also a lousy Senator and even worse Republican!
We *need* a “not nice man” to fix the wrack and ruin wrought upon this country.
Republicans are the “nice party”, which is become just a polite way of saying the stupid party.
The Dems steamroll over us, stomp us and then laugh because they *know* our candidates will just flop over and show their soft white underbellies.
We need a nasty bastard.
