People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) called for the execution of the American dentist who killed Cecil the lion in a statement Tuesday condemning the shooting.
“Hunting is a coward’s pastime,” said PETA President Ingrid Newkirk in the statement. “If, as has been reported, this dentist and his guides lured Cecil out of the park with food so as to shoot him on private property, because shooting him in the park would have been illegal, he needs to be extradited, charged, and, preferably, hanged.”
Walter James Palmer, a U.S. citizen from Minnesota, allegedly paid $50,000 to kill Cecil, a 13-year-old male lion, on a game-hunting trip to Zimbabwe. Palmer has said that he “relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt.”

PETA is probably interested in taking the dentist apart and selling the ensuing parts. Would be just a fundraiser thing, as parts go.
Idiots. That money fed 5 families with starving children for a year. It paid the salaries of game wardens who cull dangerous, diseased and otherwise unwanted animals - like male lions beyond their breeding age - to protect the species.
These idiots should understand culling. They support it for humans why not pigs and cows?
Believe it or not, it is possible to be outraged by abortion and by poachers.
This Palmer has at least one other charge of poaching in his past. There is no doubt in my mind that he knew that what he was doing was poaching, even if he was able to technically skirt the law.
I believe that God gave us the Earth to use, including all of the animals. I believe that we have dominion over the animals. And I believe we will be judge by God over how we treated the animals under our domain, just like any caretaker would be.
Does this guy deserve to be hanged? No. But I wouldn’t give him any business.

The Twitter traffic on this last night was astonishing. There was a flood of noble-minded death threats, abuse, name calling and invective.
Most telling was a Tweeter who posted that we shouldn’t let our hatred of this so-and-so get in the way of what’s REALLY important — fighting to support Planned Parenthood. What’s worse, she made this statement without a touch of irony.
